I like fanart Thursdays, they give me a chance to show off my love of pairings ^^




This piece came about because I originally intended to ask for a WW/Cheetah work but the artist didn't know Cheetah well enough to do her sans reference. Now she did know the Batfamily, Diana's been paired with Bats before, and I totally love Cass and she totally needs some loving, sooo..... :D

Why Cheetah?




If Minerva ever did turn good, they could make such a cute couple ^^ The two of them really can get along when they have a common goal.

There's a massive dirth of Diana/Minerva pairing fanart and fanfic and I have no idea why!

She didn't get killed then, just ended up under the control of the White Magician demon. Cheetah gets vanished during the big showdown, but later shows up again.

I *think* Minerva's never died...

I could see it. Jesus comes back and is out on the street being some liberal hippie preacher who occasionally fights demons (both literal and metaphorical) he and Diana team up and later hook up.

J'onn is actually a really good match for her. They have a great deal in common that they wouldn't be able to find in most anyone else; his mindreading and her lasso give them both an insight into human nature that other people can't share, his martian upbringing and her amazonian one make the war-torn kyriarchy of our world completely alien to them in a way no one raised in it could fathom, his commitment to his people and his culture matches hers to her own, they have the same leadership style based in compassion and group unity, they even both grew up wanting to be like their mothers. Plus he can shapeshift into a female form if she gets lonely for home XD

The only reason I can't get behind it is because he's like the one guy on the League she hasn't been pimped out to yet like a shiny prize pony to bolster his manly het cred, and I am really not okay with Diana having a primarily sexual history with every single goddamn one of her professional colleagues. Bruce and Clark and Arthur is already bad enough, add J'onn and we can basically stop pretending DC keeps her around for any other reason than to make the dudebros look good by scoring her.

Artemis and Aquaman are my two main DC ships for Diana, I feel she really makes good connections with them and out of all the characters they get her the most.

Also I cross-ship her with with Steve Rogers not because they wear red, white, and blue but I just think Steve when written well is a really good match for her, plus I read this really good WWII fic with both of them and it just won me over.

I don't think its lack of badassery is nearly as relevant as the fact that that's obviously not Cass. Or else somebody misassigned a bunch of those word bubbles. Considering that between the two of them, the one who'd actually be aware of hentai or speak in a casual vernacular instead of formal sentences and lots of short thoughts like "yes" and "fine" is Diana.

Yea, the writer didn't get Cass dialog, but I can't say I mind too much considering it's just a cameo.

That's a funny exchange, but yea, it feels like faux/Cass cause of the dialog.

I really think Cass would get have gotten along with the Amazons though, and would have made more sense as an 'honorary' Amazon than Supergirl.
