Elsewhere in this universe, scrappy rival Max Lord put together "League International", an engineered super-Euro-group picked from auditions and fated to a string of one-hit wonders and mediocre pop hits. Various members - notably Booster Gold - attempted to go solo on the strength of their brief success, and mostly failed within a single album. A few managed to succeed in niche foreign markets, but none of the League ever broke the Top Ten after their breakup.
Lord has recently resurfaced as a profit-making power in the digital and internet music, having purchased the rights to Bruce Wayne's experimental OMAC Project and transformed the pioneering distribution technology into an online music empire.
Doesn't "The Pennyworths" sound like a shoegaze band? (At the very least, it would've been funny to see Bruce with emo fringe instead of a Goth look.)
Also, the writers could've really run with making Lex like Phil Spector, though I suppose that would've turned into some serious funny aneurysm business eventually.
And I keep wondering how you'd play with current superheroes and music trends. (I had a horrible, horrible idea about Damien Wayne.)
I rather guitily love the idea of the Teen Titans (Though why the woman refers to them in Spanish when their album covers don't is a little odd) being the superheroic equivalent of Menudo!
Imagining some middle-manager with rock pretensions coming into the nursing home to sing All Stars and Blackhawks songs to the inmates. I felt a genuine thrill.
As for the rest: pop singers with actual muscle tone? Why yes.
He'd probably create some sort of subliminal tracks under the music which prevents the person from actively "hearing" it, unless they heard the ring of the cash register. Sort of a Pavlov's Dog kind of reflex.
