FF#1 came out this week.

It was amazing.

iFanboy made it their pick of the week, giving Hickman an FF hat-trick of the death issue, the final issue and the first issue that they made pick of the week.

There's some cracking ideas in this, and the new status quo is being developed nicely.

Because FF doesn't just stand for Future Foundation, it also stands for First Family.

Grandpa Richards is back living with the family. And he's made a roast.

I am metaphorically gagging to read more of this family dynamic and see how Reed deals with living with his dad (and how his Dad deals with meeting the Council)

Especially with the new uncle that's living with them now

I'm surprised no one's yet cracked wise about Franklin's prayer and Spider-Man being at the table during a certain part.

I'd have thought Sue at least might ask "Why? They have an entire Space Empire available to them now they're ruling what's left of the Kree Empire, don't they?"

Also, Reed's Dad would be too much the scientist to just say "That's a terrible idea." Any decent scientist would say "That's a terrible idea BECAUSE..." and then outline at least a couple of issues.

Yeah, I reeeeeeeeally hope they're not just going to like... forget all that happened / halfassedly reset their status quo just because Hickman feels like writing a story with the Inhumans still living on the moon.

Because these are different Inhumans introduced in Hickman's run:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inhumans#Universal_Inhumans

Of course, given that their belief is that Black Bolt will lead them to conquer Earth, and that two of the races from which types of Universal Inhumans were Badoon, and worse, Dire Wraiths, I tend to agree that terraforming the Moon, while an awesome idea in itself, should not be done on their behalf. Get them as far away from Earth as possible by giving them the Inhumans' forwarding address and letting them be Medusa's problem to deal with.

Also, Reed's Dad, why shouldn't they terraform the moon? You aren't exactly giving any reasons not to, save for just being contrary to Reed.

Well the obvious reason for not teraforming the moon is a serious lack of gravity. Kinda need that to for an atmosphere.

Reed would be able to create a localised higher gravity field which would affect the surface of the moon but leave Earth untouched... or somesuch I'm sure.

Interesting. That's actually got a nice Baron/Rude on Nexus vibe.

Two questions, one somewhat facetious: [1] Does anyone really think Johnny's dead, and [2] do Reed, Ben, and Sue know Spider-Man's secret identity this time around? (One of the things that pissed me off most about OMD/BND is the idea that the FF no longer knew who Peter was. I loved the Slott/Templeton Spider-Man/Human Torch miniseries....)

They probably invited him after doing some sort of world-saving or SCIENCE! thing together, and if you're Peter Parker, who's always been extended family to them, and you have to choose between a home-cooked meal by the FF, or hotel food...really, it makes perfect sense, IMO.

Well, it is nice to have someone else who could at least argue with Reed on his level of SCIENCE! Because that tends to be a big issue with Reed.

Reed: I'm going to access this portal that in no way could be a dimension of monsters, aliens or other things as an experiment for science!
Johnny: You sure? What if there is someone on the other side who doesn't like it?
Reed: What have we said about speaking to me when I'm in a sciencey mood?
Johnny: That I should flame up, shut and be glad I'm allowed on this team because your wife is my sister?
Reed: There we go.

(Admittedly I went a bit more with a Richard Impossible kinda Reed but still...)

I'm actually really amused too that Reed backed off so easily just because his dad said no :) Or well maybe not backed off but didn't go into a rant about WHY THEY SHOULD. Just smiled, spoke, and went back to eating.

I'm guessing the main reason they don't go into detail over the terraforming is because it's not meant to be the point of that development, but merely that Reed has someone who actually disagrees with him... and apparently enjoys it.

Getting into specifics would probably have distracted from that.

Yes this! I would love a special event that focused on the Fantastic Four Future Foundation instead of the Avengers or X-men.
