One thing that has bothered me about the Wonder Woman comic is that in the almost 30 years it has featured openly gay and bi characters and couples, you have yet to see a samesex kiss, the amazon couples featured have never expressed their love in more daring ways than holding hands or kissing on the forehead, and I can´t help but think it´s because of the fear of exposing young readers to the sight of two samegendered people kissing (after all, some tv shows with samesex kisses get those scenes censored out, or aired with a viewer discretion warning), and that just doesn´t sit well with Dianas message of equality and her fight against oppression and discrimination. However, as I was flipping through the "Gods and Mortals" arc that launched the Post-Crisis Wonder Woman comic, I noticed something I hadn´t noticed before. The story ends with a mortally wounded Diana being healed underwater by divine mermaids, they´re shown as transparent, so I had some trouble seeing them, but as I looked at the page again, I noticed one of them is giving Diana the kiss of life...almost. Her mouth is a few inches away from Dianas, but that is the closest I´ve seen the Wonder Woman comic get to a samesex kiss, and Diana was on the receiving end.

I wonder though: is she transferring air through the water to Dianas mouth, or are we seeing this scene just before or after she had her mouth pressed to Dianas?

There's a panel from... I think maybe Rucka's run where she is giving a press conference and she says she doesn't have a boyfriend and a bunch of hands from the press gallery flew up, and Diana said she didn't have a girlfriend, either. So... canon bisexual!

Questioner: So, um, do you have a boyfriend?
Diana: No, I don't have a boyfriend.
*hands go up*
Diana: I don't have a girlfriend, either.
*all the hands go up*
Diana: And I'm not looking for one.
*most hands go down*

I wonder if that's been posted recently?

Wasn't there a scene where the Amazons were talking and Diana out of the blue mentions something alluding to lesbianism, and they all look at her like 0_o

I don't remember anything involving Amazons, but there was a scene like that in...JLExtreme, IIRC. With her and the other female members of the League.

Justice League Task Force, maybe, written by PAD? Maxima mentions says something about not seeing the appeal of lesbianism, someone asks Diana, couple of silent panels while Diana drinks a glass of wine while the others look slighty uncomfortable, then Diana says "Well, there's a reason they call it Paradise Island."

That's the one I'm thinking of, yes. And definitely PAD.

I seem to have conflated Extreme Justice and JLTF in my brain...

From memory, isn't that from a press conference where Lois is one of the reporters?

The one you're thinking of was when Themyscira opened up to visitors from the outside. One of the guests (which included Lois) asks about what they do for sexual expression without any men, and Diana (or one of the other Amazons) explains that some choose celibacy (the way of the goddess Artemis) and it's implied, if not stated TOO boldly, that others find release by themselves, and others find satisfaction with each other.

I thought "the way of Narcissus" was a fantastic euphemism for masturbation.
