Annihilators: Earthfall Announced

Cosmic Book News put up the following promo image announcing a new Annihilators book this September - "Annihilators: Earthfall."

Looks like the Annihilators might be facing The Avengers! "Marvel Cosmic Comes Home"

They also state Abnett and Lanning will be the writers.

Why? They should stay out in space. There's got to be more interesting places than earth.

during Thanos Imperative, their was a Horrorscope view port/gateway established at Pegasus labs to the Cancerverse. I bet it's still active.

But the Cancerverse was destroyed. Not just the fault, I thought, but the entire reality.

I honestly don't see how Earth stands a chance if it comes to a fight. Sentry is dead, Aries is dead, Hercules is weak. So we have Thor and Valkyrie. Gladiator has beaten several teams of X-Men with no trouble at all, Silver Surfer is Silver Surfer, Quasar got a huge power boost, and Ronan is definitely a very different Ronan than we have seen before. Ikon I know nothing about. Beta Ray Bill is essentially Thor's equal, but not quite.

Earth is f'ed.

hmm Marvel Earth needs powerful heroes. The ones that you failed to mention that might stand a chance would be Molecule Man, Scarlet Witch, Jean Grey, Binary, and Invisible Woman. Course the majority of these characters are either dead, insane, depowered or all of the above. Yeah earth is f'ed.

Well, Reed too. But he's been kind of a dolt lately. But still, together those two have taken a Celestial.

Dunno why it would become a fight, unless they land on Hulk-beach, though. Or if someone made a comment about the length of the 'Universal Weapon'.

The plan is probably just to throw all the titles Wolverine appears in at them and crush them to death under the overwhelming weight.

The Annihilators are very well represented in physical might and energy projection, but I bet they're vulnerable on the psionics front, where every third X-Man is a telepath.

Dr. Strange is now actively super-heroing on an Avengers team. If he's allowed to perform at potential, I don't think any of the space-based heavyweights can effectively counter his magic, though the Surfer's powers are similar in flexibility and scope.

The Marvel U revolves around Earth.

Are the Annihilators fighting alongside Earth's heroes or against them? I hope it's alongside. I can't see Bill and Thor fighting each other again, they're just too bro for each other to do that.

I know, right? I can see them choosing to forego the fistfight nonsense and deciding to settle their differences in a friendly game of darts or something.
