Wonder Woman 613, or How Diana Got Her Groove Back

shadowpsykie already posted four three pages of how Diana got here. Here's three one more pages showing how Diana gets the best of Nemesis.

As seen below, Original Flavor Diana is now a host for Nemesis. Clotho split off a fragment of Di, her innocent self, and created the Odyssey world to keep her safe and have her raised in the Amazon tradition despite the destruction of the island. As they fight, Nemesis!Di explains that she doesn't need nu!Diana to keep her foothold in the world, but to keep the world's hatred and murder flowing, she has to bring its greatest noblest warrior to heel. So she set about destroying everyone and everything nu!Diana loves, to crush her spirit and make her hate the modern world.

nu!Diana drops the little sketch of Wonder Woman her young friend gave her at Nemesis' feet, and explains that as she lived in the modern world she became part of it - its inhabitants are her brothers and sisters now. So, she's still a noble champion.

"It didn't work. It could never work...The soul of an amazon could never be bent to your brand of hate. I could NEVER be your champion," Diana says to the fading out of the Morrigan.

But she doesn't notice the Morrigan reappear behind her, and grab the big-ass sword. "In that case, Diana of Themiscyra...YOU CAN DIE!!!" dun dun DUNNNNN

I'm not a huge fan of this storyline, but at least it seems to be going somewhere, unlike Grounded.

I think it's a fairly fun alt-timeline. Considering Diana *never* gets cool elseworlds stories, that gets a plus in my book.

not just the line. the Artist REALLY nails it here her stance, her grace, that smile, you can SEE that THIS is Diana.

it brings the kind of joy to me that that panel where she flies for the first time did as well

I'm very glad they didn't get the artist from the preview. I mean, it'd have been a similar pose, but her face would be completely smeared with Nose, just like of all his.

yeah i have to say. i love these scenes. The issue imho was not as good as the Dr.Psycho one (but that might have been just me not expecting him to appear, let alone save her, plus i liked the whole Wonder woman is a pilliar of creation, type story)

the "I'm crying for you" and the "They are my Brothers and sisters now " really felt like Diana to me.

Instead of letting evil merge with HER like in the case of Darkseid.

yes... things did change... Both sides of Diana, her former strength and her new strength have now merged and she now has the strength to take on Nemesis

That's exactly how I felt about last ish, which was very talky right up until the last page and came out just as the initial announcement of nu52 was made - I was like, "meh, who cares now anyways?"

But this issue bordered on the awesome, FWIW 'til nu52. Also: PANTS!

The lack of logic can be explained pretty easily by it being the plan of the goddess of revenge. No rationality required, really.

Yeah, in her big post-rejoining FU to Nemesis, Di even says her grand plan is the rantings of a lunatic or words to that effect.

If it'd worked properly, Diana was supposed to end up leading an army of the dead and powerful enough to kill off any hero that fought her, like we saw in the vision recently.

Unclear at this point - the "it didn't work, it could never work, i could never be your champion" page and the "then. you. can. DIE!!!!!" page are the last two pages of the ish. So I guess we'll see next issue when we have the Big Finish what her mental status is.
