Wonder Woman #41

I was going to post this a few weeks ago, when I was on my Power Girl kick, but didn't bother out of sheer sloth. It's a good story where Power Girl punches Wonder Woman in the face, but I've left that bit out to focus on other bits.

Now that it's topical, I decided I'd sort out this morning.


Context: The God of War's children are getting people riled up and made Power Girl fight Wonder Woman. When she snaps out of it, Diana and Karen go to suggestively eat some hot dogs, Wonder Woman goes after the children and Power Girl has to quell the riot.




Not sure that it'll work tonight though.

This has been a surreal few days, if I lived in a city I'd probably be more cocerned, but there's an odd sense of disconnection for me, living in the, relative, styx, reading about the troubles and seeing it on TV, in places I know well. Not quite sure how to express it better.

I did like that someone noted that #prayerforlondon was trending on twitter in the US, whilst #operationnicecupoftea was trending in the UK. Speaks volumes there methinks.

Also I am heartened (and one feels the need for heartening quite a lot right now) by the number of ordinary people who have come out to help clear things up in their own, and other, parts of London, the "Riot Wombles" as they have been unofficially dubbed.

Heh, never a more stark difference between UK and US attitudes. Keep Calm and Carry on and all that.

That is the one benefit of the social networking they've been complaining about- it actually gives the people who haven't been involved with the violence the chance to talk and realise they can group together to do something positive.

That was a really good moment for Power Girl. Expresses some of her loneliness and shows that, even though that's what she's used to, she can do more than punch things.

Wow. Power Girl actually attempts to resolve things without her fists. Now there's a surprise.

Ahhh the perks of being human Kara. ;)
