Comic Crossovers are certainly not a new thing they've been done for at least a good three decades or more.
Heck we're seeing Classic Star Trek and the Legion of Superheroes soon enough.
But one day I specifically thought about Marvel and DC crossovers and that when they occur it's always the mainstream versions of the comics (or some close variation) that crossover like in JLA/Avengers.
So I then had a thought about a fun idea for a crossover that'd likely never happen...
Did you ever notice that both DC and Marvel each have a universe that's in many ways is a world where characters actually grew old, retired etc and had a new generation of heroes step in to fill in the void?
For those who don't know what I mean....
DC had/has E-2 which is in a way the original DC universe that aged in real time (to an extent anyway) and gave us characters such as Infinity Inc. and perhaps the most well known character from E-2 being Powergirl AKA Kara Zor-L Superman's cousin.
Similarly Marvel produced MC2/Marvel Comics 2 which branched off from the old Spider-man titles in the 90's and is similarly another world where some heroes continue the good fight, others retired, others have died and the youth have jumped in to fill the void as their own crime fighting generation including the Next Generation of Avengers which include Shannon Carter the American Dream who was inspired by Captain America.
So I thought it'd be fun to see the two team up. Since in many ways they followed in the foot steps or otherwise represent the same ideals as Captain America and Superman the companies flagship characters.
So without further ado...the poor idiots who attempted to commit some crime or other while in the two's vicinity.

HYDRA never saw them coming. I almost feel bad for them, almost.
Plus as a legality page. A page from Spectacular Spider-girl #1. Technically it's not a story page but I think it fits the bill for legality.
I'm also posting it since it's where Tom Brennan in his little editor page accidentally called American Dream Captain America's daughter and I mentioned it once before in I believe one of the Captain America Corps posts here so I thought folks might like to see it.

Date: 2011-08-11 10:10 pm (UTC)Spider-Girl's like A:TLA for me. I really like the concept, and I love anything with Peter Parker and Mary Jane growing old together, but godDAMN I hate the art in those books.
Also, some of the characters in M2 rub me the wrong way. "Darkdevil."
