Greetings True Believers!

I've made several posts about the new Thundercats series and several posters were concerned with the severe lack of Panthro.

Let their worries be vanquished! The big 'cat has returned.

In an epic way.

Spoilers for the most recent episode and enjoy!

The Thundercats have made their way through a thick forest after helping a race flower/plant people and fear not, Lion-O learned a lesson.

They're being chased by a Lizard army and they turn to confront them and when all hope seems lost...

Shit. Just. Got. Real.

For the legal, the cover of an Avengers back issue I picked up at WW.

I literally got choked up when I saw the Thundertank. Sweet, sweet, kickass nostalgia.

Lol, I thought I would see this post last week. That ep was pretty good. The writing and pacing in the show feels interesting and almost odd so far, but not necessarily in a bad way.

Also trying to figure out how none of them recognized Panthro at first. Ya'll just saw Mumm-ra copying his form two eps ago. Tut tut~. (This is exactly why they needed Panthro sooner and why they needed a Snarf that actually talks!)

I think it was because it was very dark, and he was backlit, and they're all a bit freaked out and Panthro's supposed to be dead (their assumption being that Mummra copied the quite deceased panthro). at least that's how I took the scene.

And a talking Snarf? we will have to agree to disagree, because petlike, non-talking snarf is like sweet, sweet music to me.

Agreed on the Snarf thing, and I remember "Classic" Snarf. ...Whom I always wished would die, die, die...

I figured they had good night vision (and some kind of super cat eyes) and regardless, they would have went, "wait, you're kinda familiar... this is awkward...". I figured it was possible that none of them guessed it was him, just not so plausible.

Lol, Snarf's actual voice (and self-pity) did get old, but considering he was the only one who was ever sensible between him and Lion-O, a talking Snarf is a must. (If he talked in this, he probably would have went, "what? Snarf-snarf! Dn't you all see!? It's Panthro, Snarf!")

They could not see him clearly due to being obstructed by the Thundertank's gigantic balls.

I lol'd. And nodded in agreement. There is no debating or arguing that.

Finally. Too bad I have an intolerance to being forced to catch shows when they have exsclusive scheduling, I'll have to wait till they deign to repeat or put them on the interwebs.

GI Joe rules of cartoon violence, eh? Pass. (seriously, you can't really swing a sword like that and not be cleaving people left and right; and don't nobody say, "he's just hitting them with the flat side" 'cuz SWORDS. PHYSICS. DO. NOT. WORK. THAT. WAY.)

You just know Kevin Michael Richardson has been dreaming about voicing this character.

You're just perpetuating the cycle of the furry man keeping the scaly man down.

The scaly man has giant tanks and weapons and burns down forests. I'd say AlwaysChaoticEvil in this case :)

Does the music punctuate his name like that everytime it is said? Because that would be hilarious and awesome.

You could test it. It'd be like saying "Blucher!" just to make the horses whinny in fear.

The best part was when he emerged from the tank, and one last lizard tried to pounce him. OWNED.

I don't know. It really seems to me that Jem was a product of its time in a way that most other cartoons are not. The Holograms and the Misfits were both very much eighties bands, and the whole show was a product of the music-video era. It would be very hard to update that concept.

There's also just the problem of doing musical television in general: it's really hard to keep churning out good original songs at the rate that a daily or even weekly television series requires. Glee has gotten around this problem by the simple expedient of using songs that are already popular. That wouldn't work with a show that's supposed to be about a successful band (two bands, actually) performing original songs. How many songs do you remember from the original series other than the theme song?

You got my one guilty pleasure, bring back Jem already. I found the voice actresses on facebook, for both Jerrica and the Jem singing voice. If we're going all 80's bring on Jem! Outrageous!

I've been trying to WRITE a Jem remake for the past three months. Part of me wants to put Diana Agron from "Glee" as Jem/Jerrica and Lindsay Lohan as Pizazz.

Another part is crazier.

A third wants to keep the show's continuity intact and make it take place in the present day and...oh hell with it, let me open Office back up now. :D

I was thinking that this was the exact opposite advice from a few episodes earlier when Lion-O was raging to reach Mumm-Ra and the whole "live to fight another day" thing wasn't registering.
