im sorry... i just... ugh.... no book has ever made me this angry.... give them to Atrocitus... let him take them and eat the flesh from their bones and carve out their hearts because i am DONE with them
The positive: I never had much (i.e. any) investment in Green Lantern, so this doesn't cause me physical pain to read like some of the other crap that the reboot has generated.
As much as the Guardians are detestable, there is a certain sense of logic to why they are acting so... crazed. In the last (let's just say) 5 years, they have had more crap happen, not only to them & the Corps, but the entire universe. They've had the whole Corps destroyed, had things they hoped never to happen not only happen (rival Corps, Blackest Night/Brightest Day, A WEAPON THEY MADE ESPECIALLY NOT TO KILL THEM, KILL A BEING THAT IS BIOLOGICALLY THEM), but happen within such a short time that, to them, it's almost unbelieveable. All they can do is try to keep their shit together, in the best way they can, which happens to be... this. There's a certain amount of humanity in their actions, as they try their best to make sense of a universe that, to them, is spiralling out of control.
I don't know. It feels more like a group that's trying to ignore changes in reality and essentially has become a dictatorship out of good intent. I mean, when's the last time a Guardian who isn't Ganthet or Sayd do something that was actually sensible or that would actually help keep the peace between the Corps?

At the very least, I'm sure that whoever came up with it never intended it to apply to psychotic world-killing monsters.
