These pictures have been floating around the interwebs for the past day or so. Thanks to www.tfw2005.com for these.

All the 80's nostalgia, all the time.

Just check out that cover....

Candyand, Stretch Armstrong, Micronauts, Jem, MASK, Battleships and Action Man! I'd say "Together at last", but ffrankly, who'd ever have expected THAT? EVER? (And I have no idea what "Primordia" is about, except that it might be a "Magic: The Gathering" reference).

It's also a little unclear whether "UNIT:E" is a blanket term for all these, or a brand name it's own right like MASK and Jem.

The pink glowing figure is NOT Jem, though. Aficionado's of the series will recognise her as a new-look for Synergy, the holographic AI who actually did all the work in Jem, creating holograms left right and centre.... (The "As you wish" in the next double page spread is typical of Synergy.) (Synergy on the show, looked like this, and her doll's box art looked like this, so she's had makeovers before I suppose! :) )

A summation of the story can be read at here at www.allspark.com, but you can also see GI Joe, Transformers, Inhumanoids and other's. No Visionaries though, which makes this little geek sad :( )

And at the same time, as luck would have it, this is a perfect opportunity to properly show off my latest commission acquisition.

An unfortunate confused communication between myself and Ben Dunn led to a piece being created that wasn't quite what I had expected. Ben was the ultimate professional, and corrected it (and the correction can be seen here, but when the chance came to buy the original piece too, I couldn't resist as it's awesome, with as Doug and Warlock face off against a rather tougher foe than they might been expecting!

(and there was the X-Men/Micronauts crossover miniseries back in the 1980's, where Baron Karza swapped minds with Kitty Pryde, so there is precedent... sort of. Maybe this is Kitty just joshing with them? :) )

Maybe they are rebranding Inhumanoids with that Primordia label?

So when do we get an Aquaman-Jem crossover? We will call it "The Outrageously Outrageous Adventure!" Truly.

Primordia is not a Magic: The Gathering thing.

I'm still thinking it might be a rebranded Inhumanoids.

I'm guessing the police guy in the armor up in the corner might be from C.O.P.S.

Looks like everyone but the Joes and Transformers got a makeover.

I also thought maybe Unit-E might be the new name for Earth Core, the hero characters from the Inhumanoids.

What, no comic for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?

Hasbro isn't going to comic-ize one of their flagship IPs?

I am wondering why they aren't doing that too. Maybe for somewhat selfish reasons like wanting to financially support the show despite having no interest in the toys.

I figure MLP:FiM is bigger than anything in this book right now, but at the same time, would probably not work as well as a product of IDW (who publish Transformers and G.I. Joe), given they are more or less limited to comic book shops.

They need someone better able to reach the mass-market.

That's the one I zeroed in on too. It's like they were worried they didn't have enough cool with kickass superhelmet/masks. No, they needed vehicles that transformed into cooler vehicles too.
Basically, my childhood .

Motto on the childhood.

I've been saying all along that we need things that transform into other things.

I guess they're trying to get the games in on this, though they should put another one in with Battleship.

Oh Synergy! I've long since made my peace with never being an 80's pop star, only really got over not being a holographic computer when I graduated with a degree in Artificial Intelligence.

Goddammit people who grew up in the 80s, get over it. Your cartoons were not the epitome of entertainment, let it go.

I respectfully disagree. Inspector Gadget alone trumps any property from the 90's.

Not so far-fetched canon-wise. I have a few issues of "The X-Men and the Micronauts" back from 1984 (I think?) that were considered in-canon stories. Damn nice art too, as I recall.
