Most of the trends I am not happy with... BUT the last one shows a glimmer of promise.

Now, as a Mexican immigrant to the U.S., and knowing the level of talent in Mey-hi-coh, I am pleased at the potential that fresh hands and non-American perspective can bring... but I also sensitive to the costs to the people currently and formerly of Marvel. Not pleased with that.

It's usually, but not always a female worker, and it's usually a contemptuous word.

As I've seen it used it's to describe the boring, dull and difficult work that gets passed down the employment food chain.

I'm finding it tough to be positive about Marvel putting people out of work and then hiring unpaid interns.

As the Marvelcution hits one side of the business, with more jobs feared to be hit shortly, so Marvel begin advertising on Facebook the upcoming Intern programs at for college students in Manhattan, New York and Muscle Beach, LA starting in the spring of 2012. The deadline to apply is November the 19th, but remember, housing, transport and all other costs are not covered. Basically you’ll need to know someone who lives nearby and have a few thousand dollars saved up for the duration…

Plus, Internships are not paid positions.

Not all internships are unpaid. There's usually some pay involved, though it's often minimum wage with lots of unpaid time and effort.

Back in the '70s, DC went on a big talent hunt in the Philippines, recruiting people like Rudy Nebres, Alex Nino, Alfredo Alcala, Nestor Redondo, et. al. I'm frankly surprised it doesn't happen more often.

I'm not familiar with the Mexican comics scene at all...any predictions on who Marvel might bring over? Who are the top guns there?
