Honestly, that scenario is the kind of crap I could see them pulling over in something like Spider-Man because of the "ol' Parker luck". Like Peter goes one night without being Spider-Man so he could be with a sick friend and half the city dies or something. And it would be ALL HIS FAULT, even though there are like 900 other super heroes in New York. Just so he could have some extra angst in his life.
