I don't know if the Finn Hudson comparison works, since Lightspeed isn't a spiteful bully.

Bully or not that was uncalled for. Especially in public. Sorry, but he gets no sympathy from me. Trash talk all you want, but you do not throw in someone's sexuality as a weapon.especially when they are not ready. Again, especially in public

Finn and Santana were both in the wrong. She was worse than ever in this episode. She assaulted Rory with the dodgeballs, her insults were vicious and spiteful and unrelentless. Santana's bullying didn't stop even after Shelby and Mercedes told her to. I can't entirely blame Finn for lashing out against her but he was completely wrong to out her in a crowded hallway and he's ridiculously naive to think no one cares. He definitely should have said something else, almost anything else. No one's sexuality should be used against them.

But Santana kind of did the same thing to Karofsky last year, she found out he was gay, threatened to out him and blackmailed him into becoming her boyfriend and creating that anti-bullying club all so that she could win Prom Queen (and order Brittany to dump Artie and date her instead by royal decree because she thought that Brittany was stupid enough to fall for that). She used his sexuality against him and it scared the hell out of him, it caused rumors about him to the point where he's had to transfer to another school in his Senior year just to avoid it all (which incidentally is probably why there is no more Anti-bullying club this year and why Rory has been treated so badly). I'm not saying that Karofsky was the real victim in all of this or that what's happened to Santana isn't horrifying or that she deserves any of this. But she's just not entirely blameless, she's a little hypocritical for threatening to out Karofsky and she played her part in making this happen, she helped perpetuate this cycle of hate and fear.

Finally no matter what happened she had no right to resort to physical violence and slap Finn, no matter how gratifying it may have been to viewers.

THANK YOU. All of my friends were all "poor Santana, Finn's such a huge jerk," which is an attitude I don't get at all. Finn was responding to a bully who has spent all of her time verbally assaulting everyone around her except for Brittany, who she had been planning on sexually assaulting. (Using a position of power to get someone to be with you is sexual assault.) She beat the shit out of Rory with dodgeballs and then mocked him. Yeah, using her sexuality to hurt her was a low, dirty move. Yes, Finn shouldn't have done that. But it was something that she herself has done before. It was a bad move on Finn's part, but I don't think that that situation compares to the Hazmat/Julie thing.

two wrongs don't make a right. she was in the wrong but finn was wrong for outing her like that. i'm sorry. i can not look past that. saying it in private is one thing, or even in front of the glee club, fine, but you do not out someone in public. they were both wrong but i don't think she was wrong for slapping him.

If Santana had outed Karofsky would he have been allowed to slap her?

If karofsky was a girl, yes. If santana was a guy, yes. If santana held a knife to him and said I will kill you, yes. It's a double (quadruple) standard, I know, but that's how I feel. I do not in any way endorse forced outing and I hope kurt slaps him too for acting so thoughtlessly.

Again, he could say what he wanted in private. He wanted to hurt her in the harshest way possible. He KNEW that she was self loathing. He said it himself, "You hate yourself" if some hates themselves... I've been there, I don't agree with how she acted..what she did was mean, what he did was cruel.

Well I do feel bad for Santana and Finn is a jerk. I can sympathize with both of them, but I'm not on Finn's side or Santana's side.

I'm just saying that these are the consequences to her actions. She doesn't deserve it, no one ever does, but she did bring this upon herself.

There are no heroes and villains in this, they've all messed up.

I agree. neither of them is the good guy here. I think finn was pushed too far and lashed out.

I sympathize with both santana and karofsky. Because I know how it feels to hate yourself like that. I wasn't a bully. But I lashed out at people, and internalized to the point where I hurt myself. So I don't endorse what they do, but I do understand it.

And make no mistake santana hates herself. I love snarky tell it like it is santana, but this isn't her I noticed she has been acting meaner lately for some reason and hope now she can learn to love herself
