"I wonder if this is laying down foundation of Lois being slightly suspicious of Clark being superman?"
Maybe. But wouldn't the time have come for that years ago? And not FIVE years after she met him. In both Waid's Birthright and Johns' Secret Origins (both of which were canon pre-reboot) Lois knew something was not right with Clark/he was hiding something from the beginning. I liked that idea since it diffused the idea she was totally clueless (perhaps garnered by the Superman movies). Heck, even the much derided Silver Age Lois Lane was always trying to prove that Clark Kent WAS Superman. But thanks to DC's new strange timelines, we're supposed to believe Lois has been working with Clark side by side (until her corporate promotion - which I still don't think fits her) for half a decade and has never been curious at all?
hmmm i don't think that's it at all... the Dialogue is a little ambiguous... What Lois is actually saying is "When Clark want's to come out, he will come out in his own time"
"It's up to Clark to pick the time..." ect.
in this context, think of someone who knows some one is gay, other people around him think something is up with him. Lois, being Lois, knows he is gay, but wants him to come out when he feels he is ready... does that make any sense... ima little inder the weather
I haven't read this particular issue yet. But judging by this... starting to get the sense that the fire being represents heat vision and overall solar powers and the ice villainess represents his super breath. Not sure about the invisible lizard guy though.
Are we skipping over the concept that she may have suspected for some time and this is just the nail on the coffin so to speak?
They haven't played her stupid in Action or Superman so far so give them some credit. Maybe she has never let Clark know she knows.
Also is it possible that the 3 creatures are manifestations of the Eradicator? It seems intent on fixing a problem only it's Kryptonian consciousness seems to perceive. Maybe it thinks Clark is Jor-El and there is something wrong with HIM.
that's what i got. Like i said above, if you read the dialogue assuming that Lois knows SOMETHING it makes sense. Essentially... think of Clark as Gay, and Lois as his best friend for years. Lois knows he is gay, but Clark hasn't come out to her. So the dialogue reads "Look, Clark will comeout when he is good and ready"
I did feel that "Clark will talk about it when he's ready" line was kinda weird considering we've been told that nobody (including Lois) is particularly close to him and he's a loner (something Lois herself has said). That's not the kind of thing you say about someone who's just a co-worker.
I admit I will be impressed and surprised if the writers have been playing the slow reveal and we find out she's known/suspected all along. My main issues with how Lois has been treated in this reboot (aside from the desk job which I predict will last as long as Electric Blue Superman) is that she's known him for 5 years and has never seemingly suspected anything deeper about him (which goes against even the Silver Age Lois who always was trying to prove Clark was Superman).
