1) Boy, there are not a lot of clothes in those group shots, are there? (Even allowing for Cerebus, Fone Bone, Gumby and Pokey.) 2) Why is Cerebus stabbing the giant dude? 3) I'm impressed how many of the characters I recognize.
And although this looks interesting, the art choice doesn't go well with the Bone characters. Looks kind of scratchy compared to the original artist's.
Wow, we finally got to see this massive crossover and I seem to have some mixed feelings about it. While I am glad to see some good old crossovers, it seems this particular story has been rushed in both the script and art departments since it reminds me of those old Malibu comics, some of them good while others not so much. Regardless of what I just said, I am still looking forward to this crossover and hope I don't need aspirins to ease the possible headaches that may come later.
On the page where Cerebus points out that wizards are bad with math, who is that guy with the 2 pistols that looks like John Lennon Evil Blonde/Orange Twin Brother?
I'm torn between nostalgia for a lot of the characters and the comics that they appeared in (even the kinda-amateurish writing and art remind me of many of those creators, some of whom ended up elevating their game by several orders of magnitude), and wishing like hell that they'd left out latter-day characters like the Ant and Bomb Queen. (I'll allow the Pro because she didn't outstay her welcome.)
Wo...woa..wHAT? This is real? I mean, official, not a fancomic?
This. This is why US comics mostly work with these uses "Verses" instead of all being all self-contained stories like European Comics... why the need for these crossovers all the time? (I mean, outside parodies!?!)

Date: 2012-01-07 04:27 pm (UTC)I won't say this crossover is bad but if there's something I have learned from crossovers using tons of characters (except for the ones that had George Pérez working on them) it's that there will be not much character development for all of them or most of the characters will remain as background art.
