Dude in Distress: Captain America hears Red Skull's origin

For Dude in Distress week, I thought I'd post a few pages of when the Red Skull has Captain America at his mercy... and decides to bore him with his origin story.



This was from a reprint issue from last year, with modern coloring on the old Lee/Kirby TALES OF SUSPENSE stories.







I have to say, from a practical storytelling standpoint, a Nazi scientist ripped on the Super-Soldier Serum makes more sense as a physical threat to Captain America.

Agreed. Retconning the Red Skull into a Super-Soldier was one of the smarter concepts from the bad Captain America movie, which was brilliantly improved upon in the GOOD Captain America movie.

I love Comic Book Hitler. He's not, like, morally conflicted or mentally ill in some comprehensible way or anything like that. He's just consciously, cheerfully The Evilest Man In the World and he wants you to be too.
