Fans of the smash-hit TV series Smallville haven’t had much to cheer about since the show ended its critically acclaimed 10-year run on The CW last May. That’s all going to change with the upcoming new comic book series from DC Entertainment: SMALLVILLE SEASON 11. Written by former Smallville show scribe Bryan Q. Miller, the new digital first series will be published digitally on April 13, 2012, with new digital chapters released weekly thereafter. Additionally, the online chapters will be offered in a print periodical, along with an episode guide to the hit television series, with the first print issue released on May 16.
The new comic book series picks-up where the show left off (with Clark officially now as Superman!) and features other fan-favorite characters including Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Chloe Sullivan-Queen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and General Lane. The book features an all-star creative team – in addition to Miller, SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 creators include print cover artist Gary Frank (SUPERMAN SECRET ORIGIN), digital cover artist Cat Staggs and interiors by Pere Perez (BATGIRL).
“Six months after Clark Kent donned the cape and took to the skies to save Earth from Apokolips… enter Season 11!” enthuses Miller. “New allies abound! New enemies afoot! And old friends return where they’re least expected! Pere and colorist Chris Beckett have done a fantastic job of capturing the look of the show and the players, and Gary and Cat are knocking it out of the park on covers. I couldn’t be more excited to help give seasoned viewers and new readers an all-access pass to Clark’s first year in the cape.”

For legality. Smillville comic #3. A mini series that was going on during smallville season 2 and 3.

Date: 2012-02-09 11:20 am (UTC)If I try to properly express my feelings about grabbing Bryan Q. Miller and getting him to write this instead of a title with Stephanie in it, I'm afraid I might inadvertently summon Cthulhu by mistake.
It does seem far better and far more interesting than anything I saw regarding Smallville before, but it still isn't anything I might consider interesting.

Date: 2012-02-09 02:45 pm (UTC)The catch phrase for this series should be
"¿Do you like Dc Universe but hate what they publish? ¿Are you tired of Green arrow cheating on black canary ? ¿Dont feel comfortably with the pointless deaths?
Came to see the Smallville comic! Where little girls are not in refrigerators and heroes get to be heros! We have heroes from the golden age JSA to the silver age JLA! "

Date: 2012-02-09 05:23 pm (UTC)She was possessed by her witch ancestor for a season. And then she married Lex. And eventually she got her own Kryptonian level powers. It was all so ridiculous, it was kinda entertaining.

Date: 2012-02-09 08:29 pm (UTC)WHAT.
I personally dropped the show after Lex died and she apparently became Lex-lite, spying on everyone in Smallville.
What?
Date: 2012-02-09 08:12 pm (UTC)Say what now? In what bizarro universe was Smallville's ten year run critically acclaimed? LOL!
Even the one or two good seasons it had tended to be slammed in reviews.
Unless they're talking about the actors who played the Luthors (who somehow managed to be quite good, when everyone and everything around them really wasn't..) then I don't think that statement holds up too well.
And I gotta say, How Smallville lasted twice as long as shows like Angel, is something that I don't believe I'll ever understand...
Though I must admit that I'm a little bemused by this concept of giving a comic sequel to a tv prequel of said Supehero comic. Or to put it another way, wouldn't the sequel to Smallville effectively be...Superman?
Re: What?
Date: 2012-02-09 08:30 pm (UTC)Not necessarily--think about what Lois nickname for Clark is...
Re: What?
Date: 2012-02-10 12:16 am (UTC)"Smallville"?
"The Blur"?

Date: 2012-02-10 12:54 am (UTC)You forgot one..Sort of..
Date: 2012-02-11 05:19 pm (UTC)Then Clark went through his 'I'm moody and I want to wear black' phase and they had to amend the name accordingly..Oh Smallville. (Rolls eyes..)
If I read you right..
Date: 2012-02-11 05:23 pm (UTC)Personally I always thought they should have renamed the show that for it's last few seasons..Though I must admit I did like how they shrugged off suggestions of that by pointing out that it was Lois's pet name for him, and thus still kind of appropriate..

Date: 2012-02-09 10:14 pm (UTC)It's sad, for me anyway, that the Smallville comic is the only DC title I'm willing to buy anymore.

Date: 2012-02-10 06:20 am (UTC)Yeah I kinda liked her too..
Date: 2012-02-11 05:27 pm (UTC)When they finally did let her start acting the role like the Lois of the comics, I admit that I did grow quite fond of her. The 8th season in particular, (aside from the 3 awful lana episodes..surprise..surprise..) felt very much like the first season of Lois & Clark. (The only really good season of that show..)

Date: 2012-02-10 12:47 am (UTC)I enjoyed the show, and the idea of a version of Superman where Lois and all his friends know about his ID from day one (of being Superman) intrigues me.
And, with the DCnu , won't this be the only Superman comic where Lois and Clark are actually togther?

Date: 2012-02-10 03:00 am (UTC)Buffy
Angel
Jericho
Firefly/Serenity
Southland
and now Smallville.
All are shows that in one form or another got a second chance and having their stories continued. So ummm....still waiting on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... and Heroes...and The Cape. What? I like those shows.
As for this, I'm actually looking forward to this. Would like to see how Superman's adventures turn out here, but I do gotta ask, why call it Smallville now? Why not..idk After Smallville as a commentor on newsarama suggested? Or as my buddy suggested, Metropolis? Or hell how about just plain old Man of Steel? Last Son? He has long since moved out of Smallville and is wearing the tights so..just saying.
Anyway, interested in finally seeing certain characters appear (Wonder Woman, Batman) and seeing what flavor their Smallville versions bring. The one thing I don't look forward to..Ollie/Chloe...god that is the one relationship I was against. >_
And another thing

Date: 2012-02-10 06:44 am (UTC)I still can't see Ollie/Chloe being a long lasting relationship, I'm a Dinah/Ollie shipper all the way. Maybe they can bring back Pete and Chloe falls in love with him. And please god if Lana does show up let Clark quickly show that he wants Lois, no back and forth maybe/possibly, let the Clana be done and have them agree to being friends. Then Chloe, Lois and Lana (Dinah, Courtney
and not dead Tess) can be awesome friends.no subject
