I think generally Hulk's powers can't be copied due to its gamma basis. I think Rogue's tried it on Hulk before and couldn't. She-hulk could be different though admittedly.
She lost her flying brick powers a few years before she got full control. She absorbed some skrull and then started randomly exhibiting powers she'd copied in the past. And then she lost all the powers she'd absorbed in the past including Ms. Marvel's.
And then she permanently absorbed a dying Sunfire. And then she lost those powers and all the memories and psyches she'd absorbed in the past when she touched Hope that first time. Then after a bit of psychic spring cleaning from Xavier she got full control.
you don't read X-Men because you don't read X-Men and therefore don't know stuff that have been part of X-Men status quo for several years now? It's a bit tautological.
it's because of all the complicated storyline changes
wait. what comics do you read that don't go through those?
out of the ones i read, i think daredevil is the tidiest. but it's a fairly self-contained title rather than a franchise with a huge cast of big name characters.
It just seems like X-Men is like the pinnacle of complications, you know? I'm all for shaking up the status quo, but that's pretty much how X-Men makes money. One minute, it's this team, then it's this team and oop, let's shake things up and take this person's powers away or split this couple up, etc.
Like I said, it's a soap opera on the grandest scale. Only with less consistency. Changes in comics happen usually with new creative teams, but it seems like whoever new comes into an X-Men comic, it makes almost an entire 180.
I guess you're right, X-MPen does have the complicated soap opera comics market cornered. One of the reason I love the franchise, personally XD but yeah, if Rogue's powers evolution - which is pretty mild on the scale of X-Men complication - is too much for you, you're right to stay away.
Mar-Vell's starburst costume works in Kree white-green.
In between him and Danny Rand in New Avengers's tie-in, it almost seems like the Phoenix's just tying itself to every fit blond humanoid who channels energies beyond the average man's ken. It's like it's developing some kind of taste, on a meta level.
Okay...I REALLY hope I'm wrong but that looks like the Captain Marvel costume Hulkling wore in the Avengers: The Childrens Crusade - Young Avengers one-shot. I really hope its not Teddy being all Marvel'd...
Well Alan Davis drew both this cover and that oneshot, so maybe he and/or the editors just decided to recycle a perfectly good costume that says both Captain Marvel and Kree Soldier.
And I don't know, I think Teddy becoming Captain Marvel might have some potential. He's never actually had anything to do with the Hulk, I don't think he's ever even interacted with any of the Hulks on panel.
And I think depending on how they do this it could be pretty interesting, I mean the Supreme Intelligence or Ronan or somebody in the Kree Empire has decided to turn Teddy into Captain Marvel, there has to be a reason why and there has to be a reason why he's accepting and leaving Earth when he's tried to stay out of interstellar politics in the past. And then you have the Skrulls reacting to their rightful Emperor becoming a Warrior for the Kree and getting pissed or feeling betrayed.
And it would be a pretty cool way to get the Young Avengers to tie into AVX without Billy deciding to protect Wanda at all costs (which we've gotten a lot of in A:CC) or Captain America deciding to send them to attack the X-Kids on Utopia or at the JG School (and don't get me wrong I would like to see the Young Avengers interacting with the New X-men at some point, but not during AVX since I the Avengers Academy are already doing that and it would just be more of the same).
But all that aside I don't think it even is Teddy. It's probably Mar-Vell, somehow. Or even someone brand new.

Cyclops vs Wolverine. Well that's just been a long time coming.
