After a sizable break, Casstoons returns with a possible explanation for Cass' whereabouts in the new DCnU. Unfortunately, I'm a little out of practice drawing-wise. XP
private time with Tim is now my new headcanon :DDDD
no wait i ship Tim and Conner.... okay.... until THIS conner becomes more like his old self, i am fine with Tim and Cass provate time.... then maybe they OT3 :D
Damien being Damien might not care. He could easily answer back (given that that story has serious continuity problems - i.e. Ra's being dead before the Hush storyline starts and Talia blaming Bruce for it - when in Hush Ra's was still alive and Bruce was still her "beloved") that Jason left so little impression on his mother that she was instantly begging Bruce to be with her again so they could all be a family or whatever. That would be more like Damien (even if it hurt him I don't think he would ever admit to "Todd) especially since Talia has burned her bridges with the kid.
Or...it could never be brought up again. Or was rebooted out of existence. I'm pretty sure Morrison's version of Todd and Talia is different than how Winick imagines them.
He wasn't (maybe I wasn't clear) but the Red Hood: Lost Days have Talia and Jason having Bruce "hate-sex" (Winick's term - not mine) after she says her father is dead and basically Batman is to blame. And the mini-series ends with Jason meeting Hush for the first time (for his ret-conned appearance in the Loeb/Lee Hush storyline which supposedly took place after Lost Days). Ra's was very much alive in "Hush" (indeed he had a whole issue devoted to him) and Talia, rather than hating Bruce as in Lost Days, still not only called him "Beloved" but HELPED Catwoman for his sake.
One of the reasons its so easy for me to dismiss Lost Days (though I know it has a bunch of fans) is because its continuity and characterization is so out of wack to what was happening when it supposedly took place that it was like Winick wasn't even trying.
I love this - especially pointing out that if you look at it in a way Barry Allen - who destroyed a timeline and made people/relationships (including his own marriage!) POOF out of existence is a super-criminal. And no - Barry's role in Identity Crisis was never brought up or even mentioned on his return even when IC was still in continuity and even though he has had scenes alone with Wally (who was deeply hurt by it) and Bruce (who Barry voted to mind-wipe).
The idea that Cass loves MLP:FIM is brilliant as well - and perfectly in character.
My new headcanon is that, every time someone compliments her on character developement, we see a flashback of her watching the episode she learned it from.

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
