I thought it was ok, it's more a James Bond spy thriller with Fables-type characters and situations than the kind of thing you'd expect from the series proper or even from Jack of Fables.
It's all right, but it's not on the same level as the series proper in my opinion, though I can't really place my finger on why. It's just missing... something. That and the first mini-series went on for longer than I felt its premise warranted.
I think she was specifically tarted up a bit by the Imperial Remnant (yeah, I said it) when they were trying to find any Prince who could wake her; part of 'manufacturing' love rather than finding it.
The curse has been shown to be a bit flexible at times, as Briar has previously been woken up by a friendly police dog named Prince licking her face. X3
I really hated the last seven season of Firefly, joss heart was not in it more. And I truly don't get why the spin offs have become so popular, there are original in them. Sometimes I wish we only had one perfect season one of firefly instead of the pathetic sell out of the heart of soul of the show, yes I am disappointed!!!
Well it was full of bug when it came, so that was (rightly) part of the low score. I bought it couple years ago on steam on sale. Now is't a pretty good game especially if you uses it with the Browncoats Blue Hands Mega mod.
Lets be honest: we ALL hated the first season being massively retconned by Season 2's Wham Episode opening, with the made-for-TV movie being a giant dream sequence training for River? And Wash and Zoe have their kid already? And Kaylee and Simon are fighting in between having lots of sex?
So the Snow Queen's not dead, right? Because it would be rather dumb to show her and then reveal in the next issue that it was actually just her frozen corpse. And the power passed to her son Jack Frost because she was in a coma or something, I'm guessing.
She should be waking up just a bit after Briar Rose, along with any other Imperial high mucky-mucks that survived the inferno Prince Lindwurm and his goblins turned the thorn-covered capital into.
I like to shout, "For I am king... KING of the Misfits!" while holding my hand up as though I were cradling an invisible wine glass, supervillain style.
The first four issues are one story arc, and both Briar Rose and the Snow Queen look to be playing starring roles in the remaining issues. It is a weird way to begin the series though, I agree.
I just noticed that also. Three male (or male-identified) characters driving the story, while the two females are essentially quest objects. Great way to start off a female-centric series, no?
TBQH, I totally picked this up solely because of the cover (OMG it's gorgeous - there I said it) and okay, the premise of it intrigued me too, but, mostly, it was the cover. I still haven't read any of Fables, but am thinking of picking up the first trade soonish.
I'm really intrigued by Fairest though. I want to know what happened to the ruined city Ali Baba rummages in at the beginning. And about the Snow Queen and Briar Rose (the auburn princess is Briar Rose, correct?).
