Legend of Korra gets both a release date AND a title change!

Yeah, after all of the leaks and executive people attempting to move the show to next year, a release date has finally been announced...

April 14th! This year! :D

And rather that having the title The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra in the States, the show's going to just be called Legend of Korra, which is good because that's the name of it in the tags here. ^^;

Here are the new trailer, which seem to fit the tone of the series better than the last one that Nock released, the first featuring Amon, the villain of the show,

...I think that might ACTUALLY be Tim Curry as Amon. SWEET!
EDIT: Actually it turns out that Amon is Steve Blum, aka Spike Spiegel... SPIKE IS THE VILLAIN OF KORRA! :D

"Avatar the Legend of Korra" was good, fit, and worked, but I understand the word Avatar's pretty contested right now.

"The Last Airbender" didn't fit, and is also the name of the movie, which sucked.

Legend of Korra works just fine.

Marvel, rather predictably, are starting their own Saturday morning slot as well, with their new Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers series.

Not really that interested though to be honest, as YJ, Korra, MLP and SBBF all seem far more interesting than yet another Spider-man cartoon.

I dunno...it's a Spider-Man cartoon with writers like Paul Dini and Brian Michael Bendis. I'm looking forward to Korra as much as the rest of you guys but HOLY SHIT.

I've seen some previews of the new Ult. Spider-Man cartoon. It looked like a cross between the anime-ish chibi antics of Teen Titans and the more realistic animation Man of Action is known for. Didn't really gel, and the humor felt a bit forced.

Of course, this could be my disappointment that the cartoon will clearly be nothing like the comic talking.

Much as I like seeing this, my inner cynic is waiting for someone, somewhere, to say something like "the girl that's been billed as strong-willed and tough is crying for some reason, ZOMG sexist-chickification-ism!"

Wouldn't suprise me, that's happened here a couple of times. Like when I posted the new Tomb Raider trailer, which is about her starting off her adventuring career where she's not learned to be badass yet, people complained about how she nearly drowned when the boat she was on sank and had to be saved by some random guy.

Though people seem to be making a lot of snap judgements regarding Korra specifically. Regarding everything from people assuming that she's gay because she has defined muscles, to people writing off the entire show because the creators decided to NOT break up Aang and Katara's relationship so she could be paired up with Zuko.

Those final groups of people are also amongst those who come to the compromise of stating that they'll just assume that all of Aang and Katara's kids are actually Zuko's. Which, leaving aside the issue of how genetics work in Avatar and how logically an airbender can't spontaneously appear from a firebender and a waterbender having sex, goes into that whole weird area where they're apparently more willing to accept the idea of their prefered female character being in a decades long affair with another (married) man, while claiming the resulting children are her husband's when they're actually her boyfriend's.

Zutarans are weird.

As stupid as that assumption is, I kinda wish this was true if only because it's less bad than the assumption of "she can't be gay, because it's a cartoon and for kids", and somebody has to break that barrier (or has it been broken somewhere and I'm just not aware of it?).

If it were possible for Korra to break that particular barrier, I think that it would be glorious for a number of reasons.

One of which would be the potential to troll the shippers in advance, like the already sizable amount of Makorrans.

They never outright stated it, true, but in that case they really didn't have to.
