Two things: When did they become best friends? I read the Utopia crossover and the Dark X-Men mini series, and didn't get that vibe at all. Wonder how much time has passed in universe?

Also... did Omega ALWAYS have that X on his crotch?

So I wonder if Omega will continue to be treated as a horrible murdering monster rather than the victim of circumstance that he actually is?

Did they? I skipped the Dark X-Men mini, but I remember during Utopia they showed him being forcibly pumped with mutant energy by Osborn. It seemed to me that it was treated more like a forced drug addiction. I could be remembering it all wrong though, sorry.
