I do like the fact that everyone (minus Carol, for some reason*) is all "Damn... I understand, but still... Damn."

Even more, the fact that the Easily Forgiven trope isn't at play here.

yeah that is pretty much what i felt. I think he is sorta justified after what he went through, but i still had the "Damn... that was... i mean yeah... but still..."

I'm torn... i don't think Wanda "deserves this" that said. i feel that Vision very much has a reason to be uspet and i don't fault him his harshness.

and the fact that it hurt him to say it says alot to. I am just glad that Wanda DOES still have friends she can turn to.

According to Wikipedia, the incident wherein Scarlet Witch depowered a ton of mutants (except the most well known/marketable ones of course) began when some kind of entity began messing around with her head.

Already upset at the loss of her children, Scarlet Witch started to become more and more unstable. When the Avengers saw the damage she could do, they considered killing her.

Quicksilver tried to prevent this by convincing his sister to use her powers to create a world where everyone's desires are fulfilled including Magneto's dreams of a mutant dominated world (House of M). When the heroes discovered reality had been altered, they confronted Magneto who realized he too was being manipulated, leading him to kill his son Quicksilver, pushing Scarlet Witch even more over the edge, and in an attempt to get back at her father she stripped a bunch of mutants of their powers (Decimation).

And then there's some stuff with Scarlet Witch being a Doombot, her kids are alive, yada, yada, yada.

So I guess the deal is she was suffering from a psychotic break or something like that, then her brother manipulated her, so she can't be held fully accountable for her actions.

Take from that what you will.

yeah I just noticed. I think I've posted the most important scans. I've given enough spoilers for this issue. This was basically the best scene anyway. The Hope story was just lame

Ms Marvel is not being a hypocrite. She has a strong reason to flat out despise the Avengers any time they turn someone away when they need help.

When she was at her lowest she was insane and the stuff he's done while his ability to reason logically was impaired means he doesn't get to talk about her home. Whether he wants to marry her or date her or even talk to her outside of a mission, that's on him. He can do what he wants. But he doesn't speak for the Avengers

he has every right to react the way he did. he had absolutely no control over what he did. Wanda did. She chose to manipulate her husband instead of turning to him or any of her friends.

do i think he was being harsh? yes, does he have every right to be pissed off., yes.

you are right however that he doesn't speak for the other Avengers. But as far as his reaction, i do not think his actions deserve having him crushed by magneto. He's as much a victim as wanda was.

This reminds me. One trully believable event that they could do would be if the Marvel heroes found out how the Marvel writers and editors manipulated them into doing so many non-sensical and horrible things to each other, and wanted payback.

That would be a versus event that I would actually find believable.

They broke up when Doom tried to take over the world, killed a teenage girl and claimed he was responsible for that thing when Wanda killed a few Avengers and the depowering of 99% of the world Mutants population (i think that's what he claimed to be responsible for, it wasn't very clear); but yeah, perhaps they should give it another go.

I'm not sure it IS Visions call to be honest, it's a vaguely democratic organization, not a dictatorship, and if more Avengers want to give her a chance than don't then Vision can deal with it or hit the road himself.

The fact that Vision is all "I understand you were manipulated and not in your right mind" and the next "BUT WHAT YOU DID HURT MY FEELINGS" just doesn't work for me.

that said, i agree that it is NOT his call to ban her from the mansion.

It's a little strange how Carol is the one backing up Wanda after the whole "She's monster who doesn't deserve our pity!" speech from Disassembled, but whatever. Maybe she believes Doom's explanation that it was his fault. Or maybe she realizes that Avenger's ladies have to stick together, because horrible things are constantly happening to them in a never ending barrage of misery.

Does anyone else think this scene could have been improved by mixing the genders a bit? It kind of has this uncomfortable atmosphere of the guys dictating to the women what they can/can't do?

It reads better than I expected from Bendis, but I still can't really overcome how he initially had all of Vizh's old friends and comrades initially treat him like he was just a machine and that Wanda was crazy for marrying him to buy them suddenly treating them both like people they care about now....I am scared as to where some longtime Avengers are gonna end up before Bendis leaves the title because he seems to have a really mean contempt for some of these characters...

I don't think so- the heart of the interaction is Vision/Wanda, whose genders are kind of preset (has Vision ever been Femme-Vision? I feel like he has, but he's not right now, so that's beside the point). The other guy's don't ever actually address either Wanda or Miss Marvel, and when Tony does speak it's (an admittedly extremely mild) criticism of Vision.

Even if he had (I honestly don't know), it would (I'd imagine) take some time to truly 'get' that she was as much a victim of manipulation as Vision was; Vizh'd still be seeing her as the one who took control of him, not Doom.
