Continuing the important theme about family today (in my posts).

With the future Franklin (master of Galactus) and Valeria Richards in the present, Reed decides to do some "intimate examination" on his own.



Nathaniel and Reed Richards travel along the brand new future that Nathaniel has not explored yet.

And one of comic's oldest bro-mances continues, as Reed examines the future of the Future Foundation and it's core defenders, the Fantastic Four of the future. The stalwart core of future Franklin Richards and Aunt Petunia's ever lovin' blue-eyed boy, the idol of millions, Benjamin J. Grimm, the Thing.


With the immediate future in safe hands, the Richards travel farther into the future, seeing Benjamin take the lead over the Future Foundation, and long for his friends long passed by, as Ben Grimm carries on through the millenia.

At last, in the year 4012, Benjamin J. Grimm lays down his mighty burdens.



This revelation stirs Reed, and the explorers return to their own time.
And Reed shows that he has his priorities straightened out.

Spend the best quality time with the ones you cherish. Because you don't know when that time will pass, or when you will need to carry on beyond them.. or they beyond you.

I'm really going to miss Hickman when he ends his run. I haven't loved the FF this much since Waid had the reins.

One almost feels sorry for the poor soul who has to pick up the F4 after Hickman leaves. Not many others will likely compare.

See, the Johnny one I can kinda get to a certain degree--I like the idea that while he is an experienced and formidible superhero, he's also a jokester who constantly pranks Ben and sometimes Lil' Johnny gets him into trouble, it's just a matter of how far they take it.

Loved this scene. <3 Not just for showing that Hickman hasn't forgotten my favorite creation of his (Bentley), but for the simple moment between the best friends.

I like that there's a Spider-Woman with the first future FF; it's nice to see the roster vary like that with time.

(Not really sold on the black forearms/legs, though.)

Torch's nice, too.

Don't know who the Spiderwoman is, but the Torch is obviously Firelord, former Herald of Galactus.

I may have to get this in trades. He seems like the rare writer who tore something down and then built it back up. I'd dropped the book, because I'm sick of writers doing that because nobdy every seemed to actually get back to the building before they left

Over the years, only a relative few have REALLY gotten the family dynamic of the Fantastic Four. Hickman understands it at it's best.

Ben is my hero.

To see Ben live such a long life, and one in which he was never truly left without anyone to love is so beautiful.

And that last panel. Yeah.

Sometimes you forget that these two were friends even before the FF. And then something like this happens.

I really liked the ending, which felt true to the characters in a way that most of Hickman's FF run hasn't to me.
