There was so much slash in this book I couldn't even pick out which panels to post without exceeding the 4 page limit. So I'll settle for posting the Earth-2 aftermath instead.

Well, that answers the question of how Helena will eventually run into Earth-1 Batman. Very Bertinelli-like there Helena. Or does this make her more like Selina?

I think between Perez and Maguire, Maguire draws Peege the best. Perez's Peege looks ten years older than Helena. @_@

Aside from the problematic Helena Bertinelli death off panel, this was actually a very good issue. Both Maguire and Perez impressed me with their art, plus I like how Levitz writes Hunts and Peege in this book. I'm game for #2!

So E2 Helena Wayne stole money from E1 Bruce Wayne... was that really the wisest course of action for someone trying to keep a low profile? Stealing from BATMAN?

Also "Robin's no use against Darkseid anyway. I'm a joke, you're the one with the superpowers"?? Really? I can't imagine the daughter of Batman and Catwoman EVER saying that.

I took this to mean that Helena feels she has nothing else left to lose after all that's happened. So I don't think it's too surprising she's pushing her luck in a world where she doesn't exist and recklessly takes on whatever challenge comes her way. She did this in her solo series as well.

From what I could tell from both books, too, was that Helena's probably more convinced of her father's death than Karen might have been of Kal's.

well, I've seen some panels from older Batman stuff and he was at times shown admitting the best he could do was pray.

Yes to both; the first one is only plausible if Bruce has already figured out the situation and decided to let her get away with the hack just to see where she was going with it.

It's been a month since she saw the deaths of Superman, Wonder Woman, and her dad. It's hard to blame her for being a bit demoralized.

Though I'm not sure why she doesn't immediately assume Earth-1 Batman is also Bruce.

I loved the way Peege was written here and will actually be coming back. Still hate her costume though.

The costume is surprisingly growing on me. I can't decide if it's because I've had enough things to be upset about with Earth-2 alone that I can't be bothered by it anymore, or the fact that I stopped caring at this point. :/

Really? I like it less and less, actually. That logo on one breast idea -- it just looks like she spilled something on her shirt.

I agree that design-wise the "P" logo would look much better if it was on the centre. I guess in my case I'm just tired of being upset about the stuff DC is doing to my favourite universe and related characters that I can no longer be bothered by the terrible design anymore. Call it me desperately trying to like something from Earth-2. :/

This Peege is a little too girly for my tastes. To me, PG is always half a breath away from putting a foot in somebody's ass.

It's nice that she doesn't have anti-gravity boobs for once, though.

In all fairness, Peege is 17 years old in these pages. She acts more adult in the "present" pages, but still has a playful side to her.

The "prude" bit comes immediately to mind; same with Peege showing off her new costume and "racing" Huntress and them picking themselves up and facing off against Irradiated Man while small talking about their past dating lives.

I wouldn't be too sure about E1 Batman not noticing. He is, after all, Batman.

Also, I'm pretty sure that's a story arc Levitz mentioned he would be exploring when he stated in an interview months back that "someone's going to notice their bank account being borrowed from which will lead to interesting places."

Considering pre-Crisis Earth-1 Bruce had a pretty good relationship with pre-Crisis Helena Wayne that would be a nice thing to see. Especially since the current Morrisonian-version of him has not being written as a 90s era jerk.

Also the irony in Bruce this case being the kindler, gentler Wayne compared to this version of Helena (though removing Earth-1 Bruce's previous relationship with Selina - now they have anonymous sex and she doesn't know who he is takes away the bite of what could have been had both known of a "Helena Wayne").

I've always loved to see Damien's reaction to have a blood sibling as well (since he's all about being Bruce's "real" son). Pre-reboot I was hoping that some writer would write back in Helena Kyle and have Damien reacting to having a half-sister (I never bough the fact that Selina had a kid with her ex-lover's son - she wouldn't do that to Slam - and all signs had been pointing to Bruce prior to the reveal).

I really like Kevin Maguire's art here for the flashbacks (and that's good since he's hit and miss for me sometimes he has the best facial expressions and sometimes it just looks all kinds of wrong).

His version of Kara/Supergirl looks more like the classical Supergirl than I can ever remember any version of Power Girl (and even more so than the new reboot Supergirl). I just can't reconcile this version of Karen as written by Levitz as being the SAME one we saw in Mr. Terrific. They even looked dramatically different (the Mr. T "Karen Starr" looked like a generic blonde - thin with average bust and average looks - THIS by Maguire shows the va-va-voom aspect that all Kara/Supergirls pre-Michael Turner/Jeph Loeb had).
