The book hasn't interested me in years, but I do like the Dave Johnson covers--they're really not afraid to make him as goofy as humanly possible.

I think it helps that Johnson is a great cover artist with great sense of colour, composition and so on, much more than the average cover artist. He's got a real sense of style that made his work on 100 Bullets one of the highlights of the series - and it was 100 Bullets.

This, although I'm not amazing fond of Way in general; I just picked up the Monstrous trade for Astonishing X-Men, and whilst the concept is solid - Armor goes home to Japan with the X-Men in two, Mentallo is basically controlling the MU equivalent of Toho's Monster Island, mix the two together and stir - and has two or three great artists in Pearson, Pichelli and Bradshaw, the dialogue is just.. Blegh.

I was wondering that myself. He kinda' has a 4-pack, but all one side. ew. And his legs don't quite line up with his hips.

Johnson's one of my favorite artists, mostly because of his work on Super Patriot. This isn't one of his better pieces.

I'm undecided...on the one hand, this one suits his personality more, but on the other, the colors of the maid outfit matched better.
