Following the disintegration of the Outsiders due to several reasons I won't go into here, Batman retakes the team that he founded and runs it a whole lot differently from the time Roy Harper ran it, namely: competantly.

In addition to using it as an extention of his own brand of crime fighting, he also tries to use it to reintroduce Cassandra Cain (newly saved from about two years of brainwashing by her dad and Deathstroke) back into the field of superheroics. And although she gets on well with most of the other heroes on the team, one isn't exactly thrilled with her presence...

Err... If Katana hadn't step forward then, wouldn't that technically mean that Green Arrow would have murdered Batman's adoptive daughter in cold blood? And Ollie, it's not like you ever killed anyone, oh wait, you did.

Later Ollie tries to murder Cass again, which she let's him attempt, but he decides that not letting her get eaten by an alligator is enough to get over his feelings of being a hypocritical jackass.

One of my least favorite hero cliches. "I can't work with a killer! I have to murder them!"

Also, like Batgirl can't catch a damn arrow.

Also also, "clusterbump?" Really?

She'd no doubt have caught the arrow had Katana's katana not got their first :)

Yea. Cassandra's either not moving because (a) she's simply not moving yet, or (b) she know K's got her back ^^

Yeah, I mean atacking Cass in front of her face, pff

I mean if you are going to use an arrow you shoot at her back and at a long distance.

I mean, after hundred people have tried the same thing against Cass no one has learned anything? LOL "I bet this time Im going to get her, I feel lucky"

He seems to be shooting his arrow rather directly at her left breast, there.

Remember this is the comic that was writen by Dan Didio himself, and by the time Ollie was in the hands of Winnick
No archer can shoot in the air, the basics of physics say he would end in the floor.

How the hell Ollie is going to belive the Assassin thing, is illogical.

Dixon wasnt in his top game, the last thing he did was bringing steph back (thank you very much) and thats It.

Dixon has always been hit and miss for me (hey, remember the time he had Black Canary get involved with Ra's - almost marry him - and yet the Gothamite Justice League charter member 2nd generation super-hero didn't know who he was and ignored Babs' warnings - yeah, he wrote that) but his run on Outsiders was the last time I had any hope for Cass vis-a-vis DC until Gates of Gotham (and that seems like just a slim reprieve now).

If they weren't going to make Cass one of the contenders for the Cowl after Bruce's death (she was - besides Jason - the only one who WANTED to be the "Bat") they should have kept her in Outsiders and have her lead the team instead of Alfred. She made some good friends on The Outsiders particularly Katana who seemed to understand her (how often did Cass have that?) and the team was filled with people (Ollie aside) like Metamorpho, Grace Choi and Black Lightning, who would be less inclined to judge her. It was just another in a long line of missed opportunities for potential storylines for Cassandra.

Instead we get Dan Didio taking over and making it literally unreadable to the point he had to cancel his own book.

making cass an outsider never was a good decision for me, from that point she got far away from his family and niche in DCU.

I was just happy she wasn't written as evil and someone not named-Beechan was using her at that point.

She wasn't doing *anything* at this point. Personally I really liked her time in Outsiders.

I do find his BatO to be one of Dixon's 'hits'.

And yea, when Cassandra came into Outsiders, it seemed like they were finally *doing* something with her, all the Beechen stuff was in the past, and we were in a nice new era for her again.

Sigh, I can honestly say I've never liked Green Arrow, and scenes like this do bugger all to endear him to me.

It's strange that writers try to retcon Ollie into being a serial philanderer when there are already perfectly legitimate reasons not to like him.

Also kind of odd that two of my least favorite DC characters (Hal and Ollie) also happen to be best friends. I cringe whenever I see them together, like they were in Cry for Justice. TBF, nobody really looked good in Cry for Justice.

Whenever I step back, I love the idea of Green Arrow. Millionaire Philanthropist and Playboy masquerades as a modern day Robin Hood?
Heck yeah!

Then stuff like Cry for Justice happens. D:
