Beyond the Big 2: Insufferable
Jul. 10th, 2012 02:20 pmINSUFFERABLE is a webcomic by Mark Waid and Peter Krause, the first title to come out from Thrillbent, the line of webcomics that Waid and John Rogers recently started up (and which Waid sold his entire comic book collection to help fund).
It asks the question: What happens when you’re a crimefighter and your sidekick grows up to be an arrogant, ungrateful douchebag? What on Earth could draw the two of you back together again?
Here are a selection of scenes from the first six "issues." The full run of the series is available for free at http://www.thrillbent.com.

Date: 2012-07-11 01:12 pm (UTC)Galahad comes across as a resentful son who spent his entire adult life lashing out at his dad for robbing him of his childhood, yet he's still trying to get his approval. It almost seems like he doesn't actually give a damn about fame and fortune -- he's just trying to prove to his father that his way is better.
Nocturnus just takes it and always steps in to help out without asking for any credit because he also knows he ruined his son's childhood and he feels guilty. But he still has too much pride to gracefully accept help when he needs it and refuses to acknowledge that his son's methods have any merit.
And despite all of this, they still make a great team. It did take both of them to rescue that child.
