Deadshot - part 3 of 5
Jul. 22nd, 2012 01:47 pm Green Arrow is called in to capture Deadshot by the head of Star City's police force, due to Floyd killing a corrupt cop in addition to a sizeable chunk of the criminal population. The fight itself is well done, and interestingly the writer decided to have the two pretty evenly matched in terms of accuracy etc. Which I guess makes sense, what with them being the two at the top of their game in regards to projectile weaponry.
Before it can progress much further though, the local folks arrive to defend their friendly neighbourhood murderer,

Curious that Ollie would get on so well with Floyd, though He's also friends with the Shade, who can be considerably WORSE than Deadshot when the mood takes him.
Floyd stops off at Michelle and Zoe's to repair his stuff and have a shower, only for Michelle to drop a babysitting job at him. It turns out that it's her friend's birthday, and a babysitter isn't avaliable, so she figures that since Zoe's his he can look after her for a few hours, to his dismay.

Long story short, Michelle and Floyd end up sleeping together, which he reveals it was the first time he hadn't paid for sex in fifteen years. This kind of knocks her sideways, asking him what it was like, getting the response "Weird". He then clarifies "Good weird" and they kind of become more of an official couple.
Later, the pair are watching Zoe play in the (now non-drug dealery) park, only to have one of Floyd's former assassin teammates show up, thinking that DS had gotten into the crimelord gig and that he should cut him in on the action. The problem being this guy happens to be bulletproof and has superstrength...

Date: 2012-07-22 02:55 pm (UTC)They give him a good reason in the scenes scanned. He's freakin' *busy* with everything else. He's gotta protect the entire city and save the world along with the JLA. And for all we know, the triangle isn't even the worse part of Star City.

Date: 2012-07-22 03:50 pm (UTC)The Triangle is part of the city and appears to be a heavily crime ridden area, and fundamentally, Star City has never seemed as corrupt as certain other cities guarded by a non powered hero with some skill with projectile weapons, so the Triangle should stand out, as being at least deserving of his regular attention.

Date: 2012-07-23 11:46 pm (UTC)SERIOUSLY. If I had to choose Death By Arrow or Death By Bullet, I'd take the bullet.
Also, I'd only buy this anti-escalation argument from Ollie AFTER the Batman-level of training he and his partners undertook to take on Slade.
