EDIT: A lot of people are saying Gutters sucks and the humor is low. I think we've covered that. So... let's just sit back and enjoy this page, or you know, skip the post entirely. Either one would be nice. Even criticizing the page itself would be nice. But not the entire webcomic, or the writer, because Sohmer didn't write this page, and if Gutters is a terribad webcomic, then skip it.

Devolving into debates only semi-related to the comic and not related to the subject matter at all can get tiring.

I am always stunned at the level of vitriol leveled at this comic. It is particularly good? No, not particularly, but neither did it insult the mothers or kick the housepets of anyone on this community.

Not liking it is one thing, finding it offensive in its reeking terribleness is another.

The 1st one is a valid criticism of Mark Waid's work, because HE STILL continues to do it.

It's not criticizing Mark Waid, it's supposed to be Mark Waid critizing OTHER PEOPLE!

Because Waid's always keeping it real with comics, here he is calling out OTHER writers. It's "written" by Mark Waid and the title is "Mark Waid's 4 Panels that Never Work", like "Scott McCloud's 4 Rules of Comics". I get it now

Look I know I know it's usual to jump down on Gutters because Somer, but this one is actually written by Mark Waid. and I think he's rather spot on with this one about cliche's in comic and writing that don't have impact anymore.How many time to we complain about death in comics, he's a writer who's worked in the industry and even he is sick of it. Plus this is a slight homage to Wally Wood's 22 panels that always work(google it) so kudos to Waid.

Bad parody's still bad parody. I wasn't aware this was written by Waid, but that doesn't mean he should be treated any differently than the regular writer because of it. The guy should just stick to writing comics that actively buck against these cliches. It's far more effective than this, which is just childish prodding.

I think Ryan Sohmer is an unfunny Buckley-esque hack and bad comic writer. A criticism not about the parody itself! (which is still pretty bad)

I spent three (godawful) weeks earlier this summer, temping at a Big Box store which shall remain The One Nameless Evil™.

The Home Entertainment area still has the Wall of Televisions and yes, sometimes people did stop and watch the news (or sports, or whatever else was on). So set that scene indoors and I'd call it valid.
