One Perfect Moment - Wembley Fraggle
Aug. 10th, 2012 07:50 pmI've posted this as part of a larger post, but I do love this moment from Archaia Press' Fraggle Rock series
As is his wont, Gobo has found a new quest, a map which shows the way to the greatest treasure on all of Fraggle Rock, the secret of the meaning of life.
His friends come with him, of course (it's something to do, after all) and they have more than a few adventures along the way finding the clues that lead them on, but when the most recent clue says that the only way to find the secret is to sacrifice any chance of ever returning to their friends and family or even seeing Fraggle Rock again, Red, Mokey and Boober all withdraw they know it means a lot to Gobo, but they have other things in their lives they don't want to give up... So that leaves Gobo alone.... well, not quite.

Okay, that's adorable right there. Wembley's greatest character trait is his inability to make up his mind about anything, EVER, but if it means never seeing his best friend again, it's not even a question.
And so they set out, even singing a few bars of a suitable walking song, and all is well, until... some time later...

And that's even MORE adorable... I'm not crying dammit, that's just dust in my eye... a lot of dust... very dry jaggy dust.. Honest....
I like that Wembley is fallible, he tried his best to stick by his friend, but knows that he never can.
Of course, as you might imagine in a Fraggle Rock story, it's Wembley who has a better idea what the real meaning of life is all about here, a lesson that Gobo still has to learn (though he does, eventually)
