BACK WITH SOME TRESE. And I love outsiders-looking-in when it comes to supernatural stories.
If you've watched The Dark Knight Rises, then you're familiar with the young, promising officer character who gets pushed into a situation that's way beyond normal. That's basically what happens here.

A young man joins the Midnight Patrol, a very special sector in the Philippine police.

"I found this boy. Dead. Gunshot wounds on the chest."
So Capt. Guerrero has Alas accompany their evening patrol on a raid. There, he meets Fr. Matthias Trese.
Yes. That Trese.

Alas is surprised by the rest of the crew, who hand him a nightstick carved from the tail of a stingray, and a pendant to protect him from evil spirits. He thinks it's pretty weird that they should be so superstitious, and wonders if it's just a new-guy thing.
Then they get into the raid, and he finds out what it's all for.

The rest of it can be found here. Definitely worth a read! Comment if you can, too, on the site itself or at the ARTIST'S DEVIANTART or at BUDJETTE TAN'S (the writer's) DEVIANTART
