The new Astonishing is essentially my dream team - almost member for member. (There was no Warbird or Kyle in my version, though). I don't see Reyes on the cover so I hope she didn't get scrapped right off the get go.

Liu has a soft-spot for CeCe. I don't see it happening. And she and Hank are being all Team Science in the previews for the next issue, so it think she's just not going to be doing the punchy-kicky part of the superhero thing very often.

The astonishing team is fairly amazing but I'm a bit tired of the Northstar angle due to it always involving Kyle getting kidnapped or hurt. He's been presented as more of a hindrance instead of a source of strength and inspiration for ole' Northy.

I don't mind Kyle getting some moments of badass normal -- he's very much past due for some, actually -- but I don't want to see him on the team proper. I like him being a grounding influence more than I want to see him turned into a sidekick.

I think they've just got the entire creative section from Captain Marvel #7 mistakenly duplicated as Cap & Widow #639 - so DeConnick isn't writing the issue, and Soy won't be drawing it.

I'm a little nervous about having Kyle going on a mission. Being married to a superhero doesn't mean you should be on the team. I think the last time the X-men had a human spouse on the team was Madelyne Pryor and that ended...badly.

Armor and Pixie sure went nuclear in their popularity to get bumped to major team books, so who knows? They just had more development beforehand though, and this feels rather sudden. She JUST got created in another book as a supporting character and now - BOOM - astonishing team?
