Seven pages from DAREDEVIL 16, in which Hank Pym pulls an inside job...





Basically, Daredevil's hypersenses are in overdrive as they try to compensate for the sensory deprivation caused by the nanobots. But *because* he's sensory deprived, those signals are instead finding their way to the next nearest receptor. Combine that with problems with Hank Pym's insect communication headgear, and you get the mind mix-up you're seeing.

Anyway, the nanobots get the better of Hank, knocking him away from his gun...

Hank's been getting a really good showing as of late. I could never really get behind the whole Scientist Supreme angle that Slott gave him, which seemed too much too fast, to me, but.. Well, he's been really well portrayed in Avengers Academy and now this. It's just a shame that they felt they had to wipe Jan out of the picture to do it.

Did they? Did Bendis kill off Janet's character specifically so that Slott could attempt to redeem her off-again on-again husband by making him the main character in the series? Because I didn't hear anything about that.

Ok, missed out putting a 'seemingly' in there, but no, of course, the two of them never stated that flat out, because it'd just be plain stupid; Bendis does, however, have a well-documented dislike of Jan, and it just feels more than coincidental that she's maybe the one founding Avenger who has died at one time and not managed to make it back yet. And that Hank has largely received most of his development and been able to move away from that crutch writers often gave him of 'wife-beater' when Jan was out of the picture seems a little too convenient to me.

This is beautifully depicted, but does seem a little... random. Why Hank? He and Matt really don't seem to have much in common, and their losses, whilst both tragic, don't really strike me as really thematically equivalent. (Plus there are so many heroes with lost loved ones that it's not like it's something unique to these two)

And if they now have these memories scrambled, won't it just seem odd to them, that their memories of their loved ones are now mixed up?

The memories are already fading by the end of the issue. It's a gimmick to spice up what would otherwise be a story about Hank running around inside Daredevil's brain with a gun.

The art is grade, I really wanna have a look at this story, even though Daredevil has never been my thing.

Considering the kind of layouts this series's had so far, something like that would not be unexpected at some point.

I loved this segment, I'm a big Hank Pym fan, so it's cool for me to see him portrayed well.
Love the detail with Tony being proud of all his various gadgets.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like Marvel is starting to move away from the mentally broken Hank Pym. Maybe they're doing this to start fixing his character in time for the movie.

Then again, I'm just happy that they're making his entire character just about hitting Janet once, which was resolved long ago.
