Dick and Tim on a playdate

Random prettiness posting, just because....



This is from the start of the "Knightsend" story, where a healed Bruce has returned to Gotham, where Jean-Paul Valley is now in deranged Bat-mode. Bruce isn't ready to take up the mantle of the bat again, but he has Dick and Tim on his side

I saw these colour guides by the late, great Adrienne Roy up on e-bay, and though Bret Blevins isn't normally my artistic cup of tea (I hated the art on his New Mutants run) I love the energy of these...







Dick giving Tim the thumbs up as they perform that delightfully OTT little routine with the see-saw is great, he's just so proud of his little brother... (Though Tim jumping like that means he's doing a back flip whilst standing back to back with Dick which is a very, VERY awkward more to make, but who cares, it looks fun)

seriously though, say this scene involved Dick (teehee) and Tim and give an artist these lines and then tell him "Okay, do what ever you like, but make sure there is a LOT of action!"

and tell me what you think is going on!

Also, that actually seems like a fairly reasonable set of instructions, in keeping with, say, military protocols for hostile, but not outright war, situations; Use minimal force, and if you have to escalate, escalate proportionately.

I thought he did a back handspring over Dick, springing off Dick's back like a vault. Way cool, though -- I love seesaw acrobatics in fight scenes. You just don't see that often enough...

(Every time I see this version of the Nightwing costume, I'm surprised -- apparently I keep managing to block it out of my consciousness.)
