Kurt, I am your Mother - colored by *Arzeno on deviantART
Kurt Skywalker is rather lovely, and Darth Mystique is a marvellous bit of design.
And now a combination of two of my least favourite marketing concepts in one horrifying package.
Symbiote Pikachu by ~Moonshaft on deviantART
On the plus side, it/they might have eaten Ash... lightly fried of course.
And now let's learn a new word - Dakimakura also known as a "Dutch Pillow", it's designed to be a quilt on your bed that you can... well, this is s_d, I don't imagine I need to draw anyone a picture... oh wait, someone already has...

And before I'm accused of bias... or in this case... bi-ass

And an assortment in an interesting artistic style, a sort of etching

Date: 2012-09-06 08:42 pm (UTC)And the cartoon annoys me intensely with stuff like "Who pays for all this crap? Who pays for Ash's lodgings and food? What kind of parent lets a 13 year old leave school permanently so he can become an unpaid Pokemon trainer?"

Date: 2012-09-06 10:34 pm (UTC)The best part is when the Black/White games try to actually address the issue with keen commentary such as "but they like it!" and "well, if you don't want to enslave pokemon, that's okay, but you shouldn't force your opinion on others" or, best of all, "the people claiming they're for pokemon rights are actually bad guys, so I guess that settles that debate."
Wow, Nintendo. Thanks for that insightful analysis of the situation. But seriously. I'm a fan of their ham-handed approach to ethical dilemmas :Db.

Date: 2012-09-07 02:06 am (UTC)And anyways, Not all of Team Plasma is made up of jerks. N at the very least practices what he preaches, since whenever you fight him its with local Pokemon he picked up from the surrounding area, which he immediately lets go. Its just Ghetsis and his cronies who are up to no good.
In fact, in the upcoming Black/White 2, Team Plasma is split between N's group (Which still advocate Pokemon rights), and Ghetsis' team plasma (Which dress in all black and want to use a legendary Dragon to bring nuclear winter onto the region, so you know, SSDD for the Pokemon world.)

Date: 2012-09-07 02:03 am (UTC)As for Pokemon themselves. I actually saw a thread debating the ethics of the game on another board recently. My observation is that the Pokemon, as a species, are incredibly aggressive and love to battle.
I mean every single time you step into tall grass, or into a cave, or surf on the water, you can't generally take five steps before something jumps you to tear your throat out.
As a general rule, in real life, animals don't do that. They just don't attack humans when they walk by. In fact, most wild animals are terrified of us, since we do have a tendency in real life to kill/enslave anything stupid enough to screw with us.
But not Pokemon, as soon as they become aware of a trainer, they leap on them, no matter how outmatched they are: Pigeons, rats, rabbits, even caterpillars and freaking PUPAS will jump in to try and kick you in the shins. And with the exception of legendaries, the trainer does not initiate this: He can go walking in the grass expecting to get attacked, maybe hoping to get jumped, but its always the wild Pokemon who attacks you, not the other way around. Furthermore, with a few exceptions (Teleporting Pokemon, Safari Zone Pokemon, wandering legendaries like the Dogs/Sprites/Genies.) The wild pokemon never try and run away. Humans have the option to flee, but the Pokemon never do.
Plus, its also a fact that Pokemon can, and often do, ignore and refuse to obey their trainers if they don't respect them. So its not like they are being forced to do this against their will, since they do get a vote in whether or not they want to fight or not, and if they don't, then the trainer is SOL.
The Pokemon world is basically an ecosystem as designed by Tyler Durden and John Kreese; The Pokemon are already vicious fighting machines, and they really do seem to get as much enjoyment out of it as the trainers do.

Date: 2012-09-07 07:29 am (UTC)They see humans on their territory (and they do appear to largely be territorial) that usually means some pointless human alpha-male posturing "battle" is upcoming, where the human orders fellow Pokemon around and takes all the glory despite it being the Pokemon get injured. (One reason I like Huntik better as a concept, humans bond to their Titans, and if the Titans (who are, with one exception, not particularly self aware) get injured, then the human feels it too).
I'd be bloody hostile too if that kept happening to me on my home turf.
