Oh no, I'm sorry... does the link work properly at least?
And nice to meet another Crescent City resident! I live uptown, am a bartender most of the time, and my favorite spot to hang out in the city is the Dungeon on Toulouse Street. Good to meet you. :)
Yeah, the link's fine. I'm over in the GD; used to hang out at the Dervish before it closed and I don't go out to the Quarter much anymore. Last time I went to the dungeon, I was a tourist and it was mostly dead unless you count the giant cockroach on the wall. :P Is it any better these days?
I remember the Dervish. My ex-GF used to hang a lot at Aunt Tiki's, and talked about being a former Dervish regular. I'm pretty certain we spent a good part of an evening in there once, too, but it was a slow night so there was no real sense of what the crowd and atmosphere was normally like. From what I've heard, a lesbian bar opened up in that spot, though I haven't been to it. That's a great thing IMO, especially with all the male-centric gay bars on lower Bourbon there needed to be something for the ladies.
When were you at the Dungeon last? I've been working too much and trying to save for Dragon*Con so I haven't done much of any going out or spending money on myself in a while, but when I used to go there frequently it was doing pretty good. That would be over the winter and early spring, I haven't been in a few months. Summer is slow for everyone though, which is why I'm slinging pizza right now instead of slinging drinks until busy season starts up again in the fall.
You ever been to Igor's on St Charles? I live right across the street from there, that's where I do my laundry. Maybe we've seen each other and just not knew it. :)
