well what Jean says makes sense. They fix what happened in the future, go back to the past and either have X or Jean wipe thier minds. baring any of the original cast dying, it should work.

this seems to be dancing on the edge... this can be either a REALLY great story, or it will be worse than AvX....

i love that Jean is taking charge... i don't like that she is freezing out scott.... Hank is kinda flippant about the laws of time and space....

but i am kinda loving it so far... (Logan is still a grade a douche...)

Weird thing is that is was partly adult Jean freezing Scott out that Emma was able to waltz in. You would think someone would have filled her in on that by now. Has anyone explained to her who Rachel is? Or Nathan/Cable?

At least they've addressed the whole mind-wiping thing that seems to be a fixture of these types of stories up front. And I like it when Wolverine is an ass. It's when he gets too likable and cuddly that I think he's being written out of character.

Still, you know, at least Scott can comfort himself with the fact that he's never murdered literally all but one of his children, and abandoned that last one to die on a murder island. He does have that going for him over Logan, that self righteous piece of shit.

Okay. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Beast brought the original 5 back to the future to stop Scott from "committing genocide." When did Scott do that? Yeah, he killed Professor X, but that was under the influence of the Phoenix, which he did not ask for and was not equipped to control. I was only vaguely following AvX, did Scott wipe a country off of the map or something?

Also, ugh, Wolverine. Fuck you. Fuck for all of eternity. You suck.

I am loving this book(Bendis's insane characterization and ignorance of his past character growth the last three years aside)

I do have to wonder though, when exactly is some one going to let the O5-especially Scott-in on how ruthless and skezey professor Xavier can be. Also didn't Xavier originally turn off Jeans Telepathy because it was driving her crazy or something? I mean I thought Xavier's blocking of Jean's TP was one of his few non-dickish secret moves. I wonder if that or the existence of Sage is going to be addressed.

Considering by now Young Jean must have learned she didn't just die (twice!) but her older self committed genocide against a whole race of plant people as the Phoenix, her giving the stink eye to Young Scott is a bit hypocritical.

Okay, so I only skimmed through AvX but did Cyclops willingly do all that bad stuff? I mean, I was under the impression that he was under the influence and couldn't really control himself. Does no one mention this?

well, it's kinda complicated... initially, when the phoenix was broken up into five parts, they had more control over themselves than a single phoenix host (though since they were not THE proper hosts the phoenix had greater influence over them) but as each person was defeated and the phoenix was divided between fewer hosts, they lost what littel control they had...

so yeah the stuff that he is being criticised for, he didn't really have any control over it...

I also think its funny that his book has me rooting for Young Scott almost as much as Revolutionary Scott.

I really hope we get to see some interaction between YScott, RScott, Cable, and Rachel.

It's going to be funny if Nate, Rachel and Cable...and Stryfe if he is still around, all find themselves fading out of existence because of this. I mean Young Jean is already giving Young Scott the cold shoulder.

And yes, I realize Nate is from the AoA timeline, Rachel is from Days of Future Past but still, what if the revised AoA and DoFP don't have Sinister creating Nate or that Scott and Jean having Rachel.

...And the only way to fix it is for Cable and Co to perform at the school Prom, and Scott has to stand up for himself to win Jean's heart. Then, all things are fixed with a flying delorean.

All this Scott hate is killing me, it's especially harsh for them to do this to Young Scott, and for NO ONE (not even the other original 5) to defend him, I mean, all Storm can say is 'stop'? Not actually tell Logan that he's acting like an amoral villain? Everyone just waits around, it's messed up. My god.

Poor Angel, I'm excited to see the angle Bendis is playing with him here, and this was a great issue btw.

Though I give it 5 years at the most for the X-men to hate Scott, he'll return, and it'll either be great or it could be stupid.

I like that Angel is super unhappy about his future.
I can't say I'm really jazzed about this direction though. I don't think it's flawed or necessarily bad, just not that interesting to me personally.
Also, is Wolverine an idiot or something? That's not how timetravel works in the Marvel U, they just have alternate realities. It's actually one of the things that simultaneously annoys and delights me about the setting. I remember back when they were promoting this they made a big deal out of how it could actually change the past instead of just making an alternate reality, so have they established how that would work or something? Has that actually been explained in the story or is it more a case of Marvel changing their stance of on time travel?

Seems like Wolverine isn't the only one being a dick to pastScott. I been really interested in Jean's story for this series and I got the feeling she found out a hell of a lot more about futureScott than just him killing Professor X.

Yeah--in the issue she asks Beast to let her see her entire life while mind-melded, and he does. At this point, she knows--at least from Beast's perspective--her entire history up to her most recent death.

I do like the new Beast look- but I think it will be other artists interpretation of it that decides its a 'keeper' or not.

The interpretation of 'Cat Beast' was so all over the place that I feel it alienated people to the idea.

I'm not terribly happy with Logan here. I could buy his pulling that if Scott had went and done something stupid, but he hadn't. This was just being a dick for the sake of being a dick-- not out of character exactly, but it's the kind of thing that he should desperately try to work out if he's going to be the Heir to Xavier.

I am even less happy with Storm. She is one of the few people on the planet who can make Logan shut his face. She's done it under more intense circumstances, and that tirade shouldn't have made it to the implied death threat.
