Yeeeah. I'm glad Ock is backing off, but DAMMIT I HATE HATE HATE the "you would never be safe with me I have to break up with you for your OWN GOOD" argument. Just, dammit. She is not a child. She is an adult, supposedly your equal, who is allowed to make informed decisions for herself about what constitutes acceptable risk. You do not get to decide what is too dangerous, and what is and is not worth it.

I know Ock is just scraping together an excuse, but then they have Peter AGREEING with him, implying Ock is the stronger man for "doing what he couldn't." HORSE HOCKEY. I'd be fine with this scene if Peter was going "thanks! But, um, you KNOW MJ isn't going to put up with that bullshit excuse for more than five seconds, right?")
