How They Met Their Father: Wanda and Pietro

majingojira's second AVENGERS ACADEMY post showed Quicksilver saying "Magneto put Wanda and me in situations where we would rescue humans, the humans would turn against us, and Magneto would 'save' us and say humans are bad."

A very good example can be seen in issues #4 of the 1995 "Professor Xavier and the X-Men" series.



At the start of the issue, Xavier meets with Wanda and Pietro and offers them a place at his school. After rescuing a young child and showing they can control their powers, they turn him down. Xavier then talks to Moria MacTaggart about the twins, an his fear about Magneto getting followers.














Xavier tries one of his "Talk some sense into Magnus" things that never quite work out.

You know, to their credit, Magneto is almost always drawn with an imposing nature. He pretty much demands your eye on the page.

The thing is, Magneto doesn't just say that humans are bad, he correctly says that humans are bad. Humans in the MU are total bastards. "They saved a child. LET'S KILL THEM WITH FIRE!"

Thankfully people in the DCU are much nicer. Remember the pizza guy who saved Nightwing from a burning building and then gave him a lift to the Batcave? :)
