Bare Knuckles Brawl

Here it is, The end of Thrash Saga... I mean Endangered Species.



Now I'm not posting pages from 145 just saying what happened. Mostly because it just set up this issue. Long story short: Knuckles and Thrash fight, Sonic and Team fight Metal Knux/Kudzu hybrid, Shard shows up to help (which made me happy).

So here is Knuckles final showdown with Thrash... for now.




So this is a Warp Ring fight which take the combatants all over Mobius. It seems pretty brutal.


The fight takes us to a reminder of why Thrash hates the Echidnas. An elderly Tasmanian and Thrash himself are all which remian. And the Elder weeps knowing that this battle will have no true victor.

A happy reunion made tragic by missing friends and loved ones. I can really feel the anger and sorrow in knuckles, he has once again failed his people and not even the power of Enerjak could fix it.

We need to see more scene like that in comics. No pointless dialogue, like 'why do you hate me' or 'One Shall Stand, one shall fall', or even laser-eye'd Jedi cats: just two people beating the SNOT out of the each other with their fists. Never yielding, and so on so forth...

Same that the "girls" are pretty much cut from the comic... even their names... notice that skunk boy wasn't directly addressed in the newest issue though Nagus was... what a corner that is...

Yea, they talked a bit earlier, but now's the time for fighting!

Hm, while it's obvious how they're handling Lara-Su and such, Geoffrey's role is a bit more active at last sight, so that's going to be harder to deal with. Unless they refer to him as 'Ixis' now.

All the Echidnas save Knuckles got sent away to another zone via Thrash's super ring, which includes Julie-Su. Saffron the Bee was also with Julie at the time, so she ended up with the Echidna as well.

While I like how they turned this around to be a pretty emotional story, it still makes me bang my head against a wall with how it had to be cobbled together after the lawsuits popped up and squashed what could have been an equally strong or stronger storyline with the remains of Echidna society.

This thing better be resolved eventually.

Ken Penders. Court order finds him legal control of any characters and concepts he made for the comic as his own, basically: think of how DC handled Superboy after Infinite Crisis...

Settlement, technically, the terms of which we don't know, but apparently allow him to proceed with using his concepts and characters in new works of his own creation to be sold at a later point.
