I'm pretty sure Loki's just messing with Teddy. But I always love drawing attention to the overly contrived coincidences that exist within comic book universes. (Also, the boys needed some drama in their relationship.)

Thing is, Loki might well have a point, just because it's cruel doesn't mean it NOT true.

Quite WHY he choice to talk to Teddy about it is more of a question.

Although, this is kinda cruel as venatosapiens said, i do think that there is a purpose to this, its a way for Billy to get control of his powers, (i mean that is the goal right? for Billy to understand and control his powers otherwise bad things will happen?)

also maybe loki has a little crush on the green guy :D

You know what? I totally buy it. Teddy should listen to Loki. Between Children's Crusade and this story, I think it's very fair to say those two need a break from the relationship at least, if not a full-fledged break-up.

Wasn't Kid Loki a part of Loki, though? Basically a sort of reincarnation, a newborn Loki without bitter memories?

IF that's the case (I'm not really sure, can anybody confirm or deny?), then technically adult Loki still should have something good deep within his soul, as Kid Loki had to be born from somewhere decent (or at least not corrupted).

...And now I'm wondering if Kid Loki had his own individual soul or if he shared a soul with Adult Loki.

Isn't this a problem in telepath/non-telepath relationships too? How can you be sure that the other person isn't manipulating you on a subconscious level, even without meaning to? How can ever be sure your feelings are genuine?

Or is Loki implying that Billy created Teddy? Because, honestly, all of the stuff he listed doesn't seem that out of place in the Marvel Universe. Particularly in New York, which is apparently the center of the Marvel Universe. There's probably a gay shape-shifting alien prince in every high school in New York.

I like the fact that even when Loki isnt outright being malevolent, his nature as the God Of Mischief cant be turned "off" so to speak and he can't help but cause chaos and distrust wherever he goes. At least if thats the direction Gillen is going in.

whatever makes you think this isn't Loki outright working for his goal? Billy is his target in this whole story from the beginning.

Loki calls Billy and Teddy Pretty (and occasionally cute and lovely instead) a lot in this issue, I find that a little disconcerting considering Loki is a multi-hundred year old in the body of a small boy.

On the plus side,the ending made me laugh. Oh Loki, you lovable rascal.

Loki is clearly continuing to play the Kid Loki role here. Sure, he disappears at the end of the issue, but how many times did it look like Kid Loki was betraying the good guys? More than once, and he always came back. Hell, maybe Loki's gonna pull a Thundebolts-style heel-face turn, or maybe not, but regardless I'm pretty sure he's not *actually* screwing the kids over here.

The important thing is, Kate now has a space bow.

There's some precedent for Loki's idea. A lot of "Buffy" fans had a similar theory about Willow unconsciously "wishing up" Tara for quite a while.

Donna Troy, Alphonse Elric and Simon Williams all had similar supernatural existential "Am I real or just based on someone's memories?" problems.

Finally something in this relationship. They have always been an EXTREMELY boring couple. And that absolutely contrived BS of the Young Avengers has always annoyed me!

I AM CALLING FOR BLOOD. I WANT FIGHTS AND NAME CALLING AND A "WE'RE THROUGH" WALKING AWAY INTO THE SUNSET CLIFFHANGER!

Also, it would be great if it was a little true. After all, Billy only exists because Wanda did THE EXACT SAME THING!

Yes, having "a gay couple" on your superhero team isn't the same thing as having "two interesting characters in an interesting romantic relationship" on your superhero team.

I'm not being (totally) sarcastic. A gay couple can show how progressive a book is, but if said couple is as boring as toast, so what?

I still don't get why anyone still listens to a single word Loki has to say. The moment you do, he's won.

I do like the potential for drama though. Suddenly Teddy is faced with questions like "Is our relationship real?" and even worse "Am I real?"

I READ A FANFIC LIKE THIS YEARS AGO. It was awesome and possibly the same one (because how many with that idea can there be in a fandom this small?), and it ruined me for all other Billy/Teddy fics.
