Actual time reversing powers are cool, but I'm kind of disappointed by the redesign. I remember an interview on CBR were the team on this book talked about majorly revamping the character so he didn't just look like a palette swapped Flash (I paraphrase of course) but this really isn't that huge a departure from his classic look, it just looks a bit like it's trying too hard.
Anyway, I dropped this a while back when I was purging my pull list, but this looks pretty interesting. I think pacing issues aside, the Flash has been a pretty solid book since the reboot.
Interesting that this guy seems to be more based on Zolomon, after all the trouble of bringing Thawne back.
My guess on his identity is...whatsisface, the cop who kept ranting about the Flash, and who the Rogues tried to frame him for murdering. Piper's boyfriend.
(I would assume someone who got caught in the Speed Force, but Iris is the only one unaccounted for, yet.)
But I misremembered - it wasn't the cop, it was the guy who built the Cosmic Treadmill. (I am so lousy at remembering names in this book.) Glider tried to kill him and made it look like Flash did it (because he was speaking against Flash, too).
I've been following this series and love it, but yeah, I'd have to say they could have gone with a better design. This month's story was decent, though - Barry Allen is Weather Wizard as Captain Boomerang as the Trickster.
Also, I hope SpeedForce!Iris gets to kick this guy's ass.
But yeah, I miss Wally too. Between here and what happened to him in Young Justice, it's like whatever Barry did to him screwed him at an intensity beyond the borders of time, space and media.
And, you know, the two universes he's managed to screw over. Actually, I wonder how the other 51 universes were affected by Flashpoint. Were they rewritten as well? If they're the same, then do they know about the DCNU? What about all the times that Earth Prime messed with them? Multiversal causality is a [word I won't use here]
I really wish this book would spend more time with Piper, he's one of the most interesting characters in this title as far as I'm concerned, but we've gotten so little time actually spent with him so far.
