...So there's been 8 issues of the real Superman who we know and love - the red-shorts-wearing, ever-confident, problem-solving-diplomatic-optimist - and I didn't even realise it? Huh.
Because they're not all the same version of the character. It's not specifically 'pre-Flashpoint', it's basically just 'Superman Classic' so writers and artists can do what they want. If someone wanted to do a story with him married to Lois, they'd be able to do it, I imagine, since it wouldn't encroach on the next story, given the lack of continuity.
From what I understand, yes. It's basically a big excuse to get some big name creators on the character without having them commit to a months-long run in a main comic.
Well, theoretically, that is what the Legends of the Dark Knight digital comic is for - that ran before this one (and is still running, I think?), but the Superman one generally had some better creators attached.
So essentially what I was hoping it would be! Huh. You know I never realized how much a fan of Supes I was until the reboot and the new movie, and I've just been missing the old version of his character quite a bit. Will be looking forward to picking this up
If this Supe's thinks scarcity of resources is the main reason for wars and discounts ideology, he is going to be in for a rude awakening when those people use his unlimited energy crystals to build super weapons.
Nonsense, that reasoning only applies to humans. Which is why Supes will never end war on Earth by giving us some unlimited energy crystals. We're clearly suicidally stupid compared to the average alien race.
Aside from what others have said about humans probably blowing ourselves up if he gave us free unlimted power there is possibly another reason. The scan shows the crystal mineral he's giving them is native to their own world. He's just speeding up them discovering it.
It's possible he hasn't found such a magic bullet for Earth's energy problems yet with available materials.
This is the second part of a three-issue arc. I wasn't overwhelmed by the first few issues, but this arc is fun. There's a whole B-plot thing going on with Lex and Lois. Also, I really like the art.
