No sympathy for anyone who would buy $900 headphones, for any reason.

I have a pair of $350 noise-cancelling headphones that are so vital to my life that I wear them every time I go outdoors.

Can't imagine what a $900 pair would do. o_o;

I imagine $900 headphones are snapped up by the same type of people who swear their $200 special order platinum RCA cables are deliver SOOOOO superior sound to the $25 ones you get from Radio Shack.

I imagine your $350 headphones are awesome sauce. I would disdain you just as hard if you lent them to someone known for destructive fits of rage and he destroyed them in a fit of rage.

If he was producing life-saving and groundbreaking scientific work worth billions for me, I'd keep a stack of iPads just for him, with none of my stuff on it. I'd even carry one of those spares with me.

Though you'd think Stark would be producing SHEILD's cutting edge tech, rather than their chief of operations using tech you can buy in any decent sized supermarket.

Maria Hill can't use a Starkphone. The calendar app keeps deleting her evening events and replacing them with "Covert mission, priority level alpha. LOCATION: Tony's Jacuzzi. Bring L.M.D. if available."

Besides, Stark Industries gets shut down/acquired/bankrupted/infiltrated by supervillains a lot more often than Apple, Microsoft or Google do. I bet its technical support gets rock-bottom reviews.

and Doug's constantly trying to pry Kitty away from the X-men with the promise of a six figure salary, an escape from the terrible soap opera atmosphere and a chance to create some truly world-benefiting technology?

works for me.

Yup.

I find it rather annoying that SUNSPOT (Whose powers are replicated (but more powerfully) within even his own team) was recruited to be in an Avengers team which includes Tony, when Cypher wasn't, because if Tony can't see the value that an omniliguist could bring to a team, he's not the futurist he claims to be.

I'm fairly sure that Apple is already run by supervillains.

Man, hang a few suicide nets outside your factory in China and people get all judgmental. Hippy!

If they're S.H.I.E.L.D. tech, they probably cancel everything that might interfere with your listening experience. Noise, hangovers, incoming bullets, poison gas, inclement weather...

I particularly like the "entering the bar" scene., very cinematic.

"It's Daredevil! Get the guns"

"Oh shit.. Hulk... Guns? What Guns?"

All right! ALL RIGHT, people.

FINE.

Heading to Comixology now and buying the new Hulk series. And the long overdue Daredevil, too. See, I just bought them right now.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

GOSH.

Honestly? A combination of skepticism and fear that it would end so quickly that investing in it wouldn't be worth the effort.

I've backed off of comic purchases on a regular basis in recent years. Not just because of cost (though that HAS been a factor), but often because I don't want to get hooked on something and then have the rug yanked out from underneath me 8 issues into the run by some stupid crossover or event or the departure of the creative force that brought me there initially.

What is wrong with Hulk?
why is he acting like this?

Banner's worked out a way of keeping the Hulk somewhat in check. Basically, he "lends" the Hulk for SHIELD missions as a way of stress relief, so he can concentrate on doing some good scientific work.

I think Hybrid means, shouldn't Hulk be smarter than this?

Because that's my question. He's been brutal, but pretty cunning in recent runs, planet hulk onward.

I think the writer lays out a good excuse: the Hulk's intelligence and personality can be erratic. Period.

I mean, Bruce is suffering from a life-long serious mental disorder. His gamma-powered transformations are just comorbid. He can still be having deep, psychological shifts as his alter ego every few months/years.

I haven't been following this series regularly, but this two parter and that last arc in Asgard were both a blast, plus I like the art here much more than the guy (I wanna say Leinel Yu?) who did the first few issues.

I also liked that this issue was a little separate from SHIELD, because I'm still not super comfortable with the idea of government backed superheroes.

While I do still hate that the Hulk's intellect has been rolled back big time, I am enjoying these sorts of glimpses into the fact that he's not just a mindless monster, I really hope Mark Waid is building to something with that.

Yep. I love this series, I think its a lot of fun, dodges a lot of all the angst that Hulk has carried for so long, but it kills me that the Hulk has been reduced to basically an animal. Especially after Planet Hulk.

There's a reference to it in last week's issue that seems to indicate Waid did it for a reason other than nostalgia.

On the subject of the Hulk's intelligence: while I can't speak for the comics, animation wise they seem to be averting the intellectual roll back in his new animated series Hulk: Agents of SMASH.
