From CBR, and gosh it's a refreshing change



As for the cover, well... I like my Nightwing's captive lord knows, but perhaps not quite so... impaled through the hands.

Does he make it? Well there are a couple of other pages up at the CBR side so you can see.

Sadly, I know from other previews that Dick is going to be put through the wringer (with an indeterminate outcome) in the whole "Forever Evil" thingie so I'll just make the most of this whilst I can.

Oh, and in he's being dragged into a flashback with the apparently endless "No, no, it's self contained, really" Batman: Year Zero), which admittedly has an interesting cover

Don't get me wrong, it sounds like it could be a fun, cute story, and his circus costume being used as a costume is a nice nod to his "classic" blue, but I'd much rather the filled us in on some of his time as Robin to Bruce's Batman, than another prequel that's a tie in.

Seriously, it seems that EVERY damn time this book starts building momentum, it gets derailed because Editorial have decided that Nightwing simply must tie in to whatever storyline Scott Snyder's writing.

Also, am I the only one thinking that Young Dick's wardrobe kinda resembles Jason Todd's?

It's clear to me that all of these year zero tie ins are just an excuse not to have "Forever Evil" tie ins.

Especially since it's absorbing non-Bat Family books like Flash & Green Lantern.

It's getting to the point where I'm just not going to buy things if Batman's in the cast. I'm that sick of the guy.

This Will Conrad, he draws good Nightwing hair. Nice change, I agree.

But that Zero Year cover reminds me how much the blue clashes with red when it comes to Nightwing. Aside from that, I like it!

Also, Haly's Circus really, really needs to revise their travel circuit.

Yeah, by itself, it's slightly dubious to say the least, with the whole "Saviour?" grafitti bit underneath it's going a little too far IMHO.

Ah, the tag line for the entire DC New 52.

So we're at the stage where they're threatening to kill Dick Grayson again, huh? Does that mean things can go back to normal soon, and this company can produce a book worth buying again?

The depressing thing about the Zero Year tie-ins is that Snyder and Capullo blatantly haven't requested them, and yet you can guarantee they'll take a lot of the heat for it because theirs is the lead story.

It's so obviously an editorial thing, because where on Earth is there actually time to fit in all of these characters who Bruce isn't much older than? Zero Year seems to be building toward a really rather simple Batman vs Riddler conclusion which doesn't require all of the others because of the simple fact THEY CAME IN LATER. Why do DC have to milk stuff when it's blatantly unnatural? The Joker stuff was a stretch, but this is dumb.

Pretty much. I'm actually liking the main story, personally, what with the fact that we're finally getting something a little bit different than Year One, which is, fine, a fantastic story, but it's been plundered for years, now. But it makes zero sense, excuse the pun. Catwoman? Maybe. Some of the other villains? Fine. But to shove the entire Bat-Family in there is ridiculous. There'd be no reason for him to be inspiring the likes of Dick and Barbara so early.

So they finally might kill Dick off? Well, I just started buying a few titles again. Looks like I'll have to drop 'em. I refuse to give DC money if they kill my Beautiful Bird. Nope, just can't do it. Even if he comes back the next week, can't stand it. *shakes head firmly*

OTOH, he'll fit right in with the rest of the Bat-Clan, almost all of whom have been killed or considered dead, even Alfred (Outsider reference).
