I really wanted to strangle Swinehart in this issue, especially when he made that crack about however he chooses to behave is the model of professionalism since he's the archetypal surgeon.
This issue felt a bit unnecessary aside from the final scenes, but I have to admit I'm curious to see where the Camelot stuff goes.
Swineheart is a very grim person. 'I'm willing to sleep with you now'... ugh.
And this seems fun! I love how everyone in Fable town is so... chill? Due to their longevity, yes Bigby is dead, but as Ozma is showing, they're working on it, it could be worse.
Yeah the Swineheart thing is very creepy, not sure if you saw the issue but there's this whole thing where he calmly explains his views on evolutionary psychology and how there's a subjective reason we find thin people attractive, because they pass along healthy traits... Never mind that the reverse was once considered to be true.
Anyway considering that Miss Douglas was at least at some point plotting revenge for all the people who were mean to her when she was heavier, I'm thinking I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
Has Willingham dropped the whole Boy Blue religion/messiah thing? That was a major plot point for much of the series with even Rose Red wearing the Blue scarf. And has Bufkin and Co. saved Oz at this point? Even if not, I still scratch my head at Ozma not taking part at all in any storyline involving Oz.
Last time it came up, Stinky was drawing on faith magic from the Boy Blue cult, when they were preparing to fight Mr. Dark... it could be that the cult has fizzled a bit with no eminent doom hanging over them for the moment.
Buffkin has saved Oz, and yes I wish Ozma was involved with all that. I had at one point a fan fic idea in my head that involved her going behind enemy lines to save Dorothy from the Nome King... but that was before it was revealed Dorothy was an evil hit-woman.
Stinky still has his powers, which are powered by the cults' faith, so we know they're still a thing. He changed his size when he drove Briar Rose's car. Actually, come to think of it, I think there was also a brief scene of him spreading the gospel to people he and Bigby ran into on the road.
But the cult's not making waves anymore because they got what they wanted: One of their own (Rose Red) in charge of the Farm. Beyond that, it's just their religion. It doesn't have much practical bearing on their day-to-day lives, so it doesn't make waves.
Yes but I'm not terribly clear that Rose Red is really "one of their own". She doesn't really seem to by into the Blue Boy religion and it seems like she was just playing them. And we've seen the Farm Animals in the past react badly before to getting played by the "human" Fables.

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
