Iwasaki, a scriptwriter, has a premonition that something bad is about to happen.








He begins to have nightmares about her and is haunted by the image of her face, which becomes more and more monstrous each time. On the advice of a friend he tries to get a copy of the magazine and see if she's really as bad as he imagined; but the magazine has already been replaced with the newest issue.

Iwasaki and his friends are working on a new indie film and decide to audition for the female lead, as they can't find a high school girl attractive enough. As they start to go through the casting pictures, Iwasaki begins to have a sense of dread again.








The director jokes that Isawak is a big fan of hers, much to his chagrin.






Fuchi obsessively stares at Iwasaki during the shoot and follows him when he goes to wash his face in the river. He tries to convince the crew to abandon filming and leave her there, but they are worried she will follow them and be angry.






After a brief discussion among themselves the crew decides to just shoot all of Fuchi's scenes in one go so they can get rid of her.


The others (except Iwasaki) don't believe him, until they arrive at the place he led them to and find blood stains everywhere.




She kills and eats Miyake, while everyone else runs from her.

For some reason I love the monster lady's description in the Junji Ito wiki.

"Miss Fuchi: A popular supermodel despite the fact that she is a hideous, cannibalistic monster."

Wait, wha? At first I thought the guy was the only one who saw her face as monsterous while everyone else saw her as beautiful, driving the guy slowly insane, but everyone else can see it too! So how the hell does she even manage to walk the streets, much less become a model?

Well, it looks great, like Ito's stories always do. But all I can think of is that line from MST3K's Mighty Jack.

This is basically the full story so there's no further explanation given. The "model" has appeared in a few other stories but there's not a whole lot of explanation beyond her being a monster.

Yeah, most Junji Ito stories never really explain the evil and messed up stuff that goes on. Its basically "Normal people encounter something strange and evil because fuck you that's why."

I think the only story where it was really explained what was going on was Gyo.
