Superman #23.3 H'EL
Sep. 18th, 2013 03:55 pmH'el has been thrust into the past of Krypton, a decade or so before its destruction. He's been found by a young Jor-El, who's been monitoring his comatose state for six months.


After H'el learns the truth that he was a genetic experiment that came alive being bombarded with as much different cosmic radiation in space. He goes on a rage murder spree and heat vision kills Zod.

(I never got this super-villain obsession with ruling. ruling seems a lot of work and very boring.)

Date: 2013-09-19 11:56 am (UTC)And the old 2000AD series Zenith (by Grant Morrison) had a great sequence where a wannabe world conqueror is confronted by the possibility of the sheer, brain numbing mundanity of actually ruling a planet.
Zenith (who isn't even the brightest bulb in the room) actually points out that "People like me could have taken over the world if we wanted to, but who needs the hassle?")
